Badgers have shown signs of life and have looked very impressive in spurts, but have yet to make a statement that they are for real. This could be a good weekend for them to send a statement to the college hockey world with a sweep over UND.

UND hasnt lived up to expectations in the early going. While they are not playing bad hockey they are not yet the dominate team many expected them to be. This weekend could be a good time for them to get their train rolling by sweeping the badgers.

This matchup is tough to call, it could be a barn burner, could be close defensive games, or could be a weekend dominated completely by one team. Lets play some hockey!!

Any thoughts, comments, or predictions?

I'm looking for a series split as the badgers continue to grow, and with UND still trying to hit their full stride.

I am going with a split as well. As for UND, starting off slow has been their trademark the last few years. They seem to win when they have to..........in the play-offs.

I think North Dakota is going to come out firing and their experience is going to be too much for the Badgers this weekend. I'm predicting a University of North Dakota sweep, but things could be very different when these two teams meet again later in the year.

Fortunately, they get derailed at the Frozen Four though.

FRIDAY NIGHT FINAL
Wisconsin-Madison - 4
North Dakota - 0

Big win for the Badgers over the "great" UND, as described by wisconsinprephockey. ;) This could be a HUGE statement weekend for Wisconsin-Madison if they can pull out the sweep tomorrow night!

Very true. Also could be a big statement for Connelly too as he notched his first shut out of season. He has yet to win on back to back nights, something he needs to get taken care of.

Don't know what your smokin but the Badgers only goal came late in the third after they were already down 3-0. Badgers have yet to win back to back nights with Connely in net. Came out and looked like they did not want to be there at all, flat footed no winning races to the puck, and holding on to the puck way, way to long.

However UND came out determined to win, they were not going to let the badgers sweep them by any means. Showed lack of sportsmanship by starting a brawl late in the third when they already had the game decided. About a 5 minute brawl with 122 penalty minutes assessed, was the only sign of life the badgers showed all night.
