This weekend two teams that started the season on the rise in the WCHA and then both took tough sweeps last weekend will face off at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center in Duluth, Minnesota as the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs will play host to the Michigan Tech Huskies.

The Huskies enter the series after being swept on their home ice by the St. Cloud State University Huskies last weekend. Now sitting at 5-5-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the WCHA, good for second in the WCHA standings, Michigan Tech will be looking to rebound and continue to build on a strong start to the season. The Huskies are 1-1-0 on the road so far this season.

The Bulldogs will play their first game at the DECC since completing a sweep of the St. Cloud State University Huskies way back on October 20th. Now sitting at 4-3-1 overall and 3-3-0 in the WCHA, good for a fourth place tie with Denver and North Dakota, the Bulldogs will look to get back on the winning track after a tough couple of losses last weekend in Colorado Springs at the hands of the Colorado College Tigers. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in their home rink sitting at 3-0-1 in games played at the DECC.

I see a split also. But a sweep by either team wouldn't surprise me.

I can see that, too. Depends on which team shows up to play and if one gets a hot goaltender, which is very possible.

This could be a pivotal early season series for both of these squads. Both teams are coming off of being swept last weekend but I have a feeling that one is going to come out hungrier than the other. I also think returning to the DECC for the first time in nearly a month will be good for the Bulldogs of Minnesota-Duluth. I have also heard rumors that Teslak from Michigan Tech has made the trip but may not be available for this series. Either way I'm going to predict a Minnesota-Duluth Sweep for this series, but both games will be fairly low scoring and hard fought until the final buzzer.

Good defensive game by both teams, some of the saves made by both goalies were outstanding.. should be a good finale tomorrow night!

I've Never been a big fan of the Decc's Ice, the puck bounces way to much.
