Warroad at Crookston 11-29

Looks to be another great match up between these two top ranked teams. Warroad will be looking to avenge their loss to the Pirates in the section championship. Crookston is missing one of their top D in Wangen due to illness but several talented 9th graders have stepped in to soften the blow. I like the Pirates at home and they will win 4-3 in a very closely played game. Go Pirates :!:

Love,

Mom

Warroad's missing one of their best forwards due to graduation. All that matters is when your final game is at the end of the year. First match
Warroad 4 C-town 2

Your right on WN4E the winner of the last 2 standing is the only game that matters. Looks like the regular season championship will be huge for one of the big 3, almost assuring them of a birth in the section championship game. No matter what happens Section 8 will have great representation at State in 2008.

Hey wn4e, I think what hockeymom is saying is that these two teams are so closely matched, that if either team is missing a key player, it could be just enough to get the other team over the hump. Take Story or Piper out of Warroad's line up and see if you have the same attitude.

What I"m sayin is that the Pirates still look real solid without LW and will even be deeper when and if she can make a comeback. I hope that she is regaining her strength and returns very soon, it has to be hard to sit and watch. Good luck to LW & the rest of the Lady Pirates. Go Teddy :!:

Crookston 4 Warroad 1. Crookston is a much improved team over last year. If the 2007-2008 team played last years Crookston team they would easily win by 4 goals.

Howdy partner. The key to Crookston's success once again this year will primarily rest on the shoulders of the returning vets. Three of which are currently leading the team in scoring. I think you have put too much stock in the pool of new 9th graders. One of which has already stepped to the plate however the others are still maturing and learning to play at this level. Crookston has yet to be really tested and we will find out for sure how good these new kids really are on 11-29 against the Warriors. By the way do not over look the Eastsiders like the New Yorkers did against the Vikings this past Sunday. According to Piche and Scanlan the Pirates are in for a big surprise come Tuesday night. What do you think Cowboy?

I think you put to little faith in the youngsters. I see plenty of youngsters playing on other rosters. Crookston has 2 solid lines and a fair 3rd line. In all the games so far they have played 3 lines, If things get tough play 2 like last year. Only this year we have 2 solid lines not 1 and 1/3 like last year. Plus if Lexy W. comes back they will have plenty of D not like last year when they played with only 3. Crookston will beat EGF by 5 goals, this isn't soccer where the Piche's and Scanlan's dominate.

It's not that I do not have faith in the youngsters, but rather they have yet to earn my respect. I see alot of potential in these new faces but they have not been truly tested in a tough battle. A good showing by these kids against the Warriors will go a long way in getting me there. Mom will be at the Civic cheering on the Pirates Thursday night against the Warriors. See you there partner?

Say what you want about the "youngsters" on Crookston's team but it looks to me like they really held their own against a highly ranked team from the "South". I see these kids only getting better with time. Take nothing away from the veterans, both groups of kids will only make each other BETTER! I will pick the home-grown kids winning 5-3 with an open netter. =D>

Welcome aboard #2 Hockey Mom! The highly ranked team that you spoke about is currently #18 in AA and will soon fall out of the rankings. In my opinion this game proved nothing. They had a couple of nice players but lost the bulk of their talent to graduation. I will be watching your daughter and the other youngsters at the Civic on Thursday night and will let you know if I think they made the grade. I am really pulling for these youngsters to succeed. Go Pirates :!:

Wow, not one, but TWO hockey moms on the forum now!

Would I be correct?

Hopefully the forum can handle the 2 of us. You are right in your assumption, my daughter was on the State tournament team. I assume that you have a vested intrest in the team based on your previous posts Sioux, would I be correct :?:

Hey, Sue, very insightful, I do indeed have a daughter playing hockey. Can't wait to see the score of the game after tonite and then after Thursday v. Warroad. Much hard work has gone into this season and it will be fun to see it all unfold. Best of luck to the Pirates this week!! \:D/

I'll have to count the players on the Pirates squad. We could have as many as 15 more Hockeymoms coming on board!!

Prediction:
Pirates 7
EGF 1

Have to hurry off to the big game tonite Sioux, still have not seen your prediction on the Warrior game. What does your crystal ball say?

Shots were 30-15 in favor of Crookston. Doesn't sound like total domination for EGF.

I warned you Pirates about those darn Eastsiders. Crookton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but EGF tied the game at 2 before the Pirates went up 3-2 going into the third. Crookston did not breath any easier until 3 min left in the third winning 4-2. Saves were 26 to 13 in favor of the Pirates. The EGF coach was estatic in the Herald this morning being quoted as saying that they have a real good chance of making the section championship game. A fair statement considering they would only have to upset one team to get there. It is good to see more balance in the section which will make all teams better come tourney time. Sue you will need to learn to become more conservative in your predictions or the Joker will have a field day with you. Looks like the Cards are strong again this year ranked #5 in class A. Have they beat any tough competiton yet this season? Also Suzie I am still waiting for your C-Town/Warrior prediction.

Mom
