After the split between the two fell throught, how do you think the team is going to be this year? Are they going to stand up to Orono, mound and cathedral? I have heard they have 3 very solid lines and a 4th line that can hold its own. For the D I havent heard much but Earls and shaw

Freshman goalie is very skilled technically, moves well for a tall kid still growing, has the right demeanor ....should be a solid contributor but as with any freshman playing at this level, he will probably have his periods of inconsistency. Very normal

Great friend coaches the team.....I have no horse in the race on the team. The team was pleased with their scrimmages and their performance except for one game.

I don't know how they did in their scrimmage versus Chaska the other day since the JV teams were at a different rink. I have to say their Jv team had some impressive players for that level so I would expect Varsity is going to be very solid.

Goalie I have seen first hand - He will be a good addition for this season

holy family looked decent tonight but my goodness did farmington surprise me. holy family outshot them 14-5 in the first period and led 2-1 but after that it was all farmington. final shots ended up like 31-27 for farmington and they won 7-3. that schluessler kid for farmington was damn good. 4 goals 2 assists for the kid.

Farmington is an "up and comer", and definitely out of Holy Family's league, IMO.
Did you enjoy the obnoxious Farmington cheering section? (a pack of overzealous mothers. Hi Mom! Glad you made it! )

i was quite surprised really. farmington was flat in the first and than got 3 in the first 3 minutes of the second period and forced HF to take their timeout. those 'farm boys' sure do attract a lot of fans

sorry i'm terrible with names on the teams i dont know much about but im guessing you are talking about holy family's goalie? if so i didnt think he was anything special. especially on the first goal for farmington schluessler made one move and the goalie got all tangled up. 7 goals on 31 shots too. granted farmingtons powerplay was impressive and they went 3/5 i was not all that impressed by him.

A freshman goalie now playing at a higher speed of play will have a period of adjustment and that age will also produce inconsistent play and his confidence will be on a roller coaster ride the whole year.....he will be fine.

i agree. he's got a great build for a goalie.

He let in 2 goals on 13 or so shots. Including a shot from beyond the blue line that bounced off his shoulder and trickled in, in o.t. They lost 2-1 to Providence in o.t.
Shots:
H.F.: 33-34?
Providence: 13-14?

Wasnt the greatest performance if you ask me
