H-M should have a candidate in Ryan Furne, especially after his start tonight!

I suspect that Edina is #1 in most rankings at the end of the season. If not, #2 or #3 with Roseau or Hill-Murray.

It looks like some of their players will put up sick point totals and be candidates. At this point probably juniors Anders Lee (five goals in first two games) and Marshall Everson (five goals tonight) are the Hornet front-runners, but it could also be Zach Budish (scouts, who have say in this, love his size), Joe Gleason (skates nearly as well as Bobby Orr), or even one of the Gaarder brothers.

Early finalists (very early):

Ness
Lee
Furne
Everson

Hard to imagine it not going to someone on a Top 5 team this season, so it reduces the pool significantly.

Mr. Hockey is only awarded to seniors. Thus, juniors such as Budish and Everson are not eligible.

Gotcha, I was thinking that but saw Ness's name. Is he classified as a junior? I know he would like to attend the University next year.

He is a junior taking more classes to get classified as a senior in order to graduate early. But this is a sticky point, he is a junior at the beginning of the year and still a junior so technically he canot win the award. But but if he is the best player then he deserves the award......

Corey Leivermann and Ricky Litchfield...just throwing some names out there. I know that they wont win but, they are a couple kids in the southern part of the state that will put up some big numbers this year.

Justin Jokinen (Cloquet) should be amongst the debate.

Youso is back.

He shouyld be considered.

Jake Johnson of Denfeld.
Ravndahlin of Warroad.
Lehrke of Park Rapids.
The D from Brainerd - Olson.

I don't think Ness will be considered, but obviously should be.

There's a senior defensemen at hermantown called Lonetto who is a pretty solid defender. shut down jake johnson everytime he was out there. Mr. Hockey? depends on how many points he gets this year
