It is this time of year where on a nightly basis there is a new crop of high school hockey players scoring the goal they may remember for a lifetime.

Duluth Central- it was a ringing slapshot from outside the blueline that clearly beat the goalie high on the blockerside then rung off of two pipes hit the Trojan goalie in the back and then trickled in.

Remember kids, you are never wrong to shoot the puck.

No footage of this feat exists.

I'm thrilled to say that the first of my 3 career goals was against Hill-Murray - and it should have been disallowed. I completely ran over the goalie Dave Gilbert, but I guess the ref thought the puck was either already in the net, or I was knocked into him because it counted. My recollection is that neither was the case, and I didn't make a point to ask any questions or correct the call.

Lake of the Woods. Slap shot from the blue line through a screen. It was probably tipped but I was awarded credit.

Well George, I hope you got at least a couple in that game.

I wouldn't worry though, early indications of this thread are there are a lot of posters yet to get that goal or goalies love this site.

Geez bob, I'm sorry I didn't congratulate you on number 7,000. I know the Canadian exchange rate took a few but that is still pretty good.

Against Henry Sibley my Sophmore year. Puck laying in front and just shoved it in with my backhand, it was pretty weak. I believe I had 48 career goals. 6 (sophmore) 18 (junior) 24 (senior.)

My first goal was against the always tough Chisholm/Cook Bluestreaks, the last time we (Hibbing) played them (97-98 season). It was a rebound that took me 4 swings to finally get in. When I got to the bench Pete DeCenzo was laughing and said to me, "You only get 4 times to get it in the end zone, too."
And my last goal was againist Virginia/MIB/Orr (yeah, when I played Orr was in that co-op) and this time Pete DeCenzo said to me, "Well atleast you can play football." I like to think he was joking, cuz I know my 16 points on the season were all meaningful.
