They would have the same type of school and dominance at sports as Eden Prairie. Both would be towns of about 60,000 people feeding one high school.

One could say that Eden Prarie also has a Catholic school in its' neighbor Holy Family. The difference is that at least in recent years, Cathedral is the dominating high school for hockey in St Cloud.

cathedral clearly has the best program...and best academics in st. cloud...they do not recruit...in facttheyhave to persuade kids to stay at acathedral that are already intheirpipeline from going elsewhere....both matt hartmann of the scsu huskies, and brandon schwartz who played for mich,. tech started at cathedral but both transferred to apoll when apollo used to have a respectable program. more schools gives more kids a chance to play at the highschool level....but this is also reflective in the success of the st. cloud programs at the class AA level, at least cathedral has been to state a handful of times since the 2 class system and still beats the class AA teams in st.c loud and the st. cloud area year in and year out.,....i feel bad for the kids of moorhead who are stuck in a one highschool town and cant play, and feel bad for the other kids who cant get past roseau haha..

Matt Hartman along with his brother Joe, were in the Apollo system their entire way to high school.

But what CarGuy said still remains true. Cathedral loses more kids to Apollo than they attract.

I can think of four impact players right now that went from Cathedral to Apollo...and, for humors sake...one that didn't make such a great impact...

In order...

Brandon Schwartz
Matt Hartman
Dan Jernberg
Joe Hartman
Seth Baughman

Thanks for the inclusion of Baughman. We'll thank Cathedral for all of the other ones, and do our best to forget about Baughman.

Alot is true.

Cathedral will be going downhill fast after the next few seasons.
Almost the whole Bantam A team will be going to St cloud tech, at least that's what i've heard.

I agree that three of them were impact players. One of them kind of belongs just above Baughman. I will leave it at that.

No it's not. Apollo and Tech would be more dominant then Cathedral and Apollo in EVERY sport. Including hockey. This question isn't about the past it's about the future.

I said Apollo and tech because it has been talked about in the administration that they would be combined for years

Yuck. That comment was gross.

EVERY sport?!

Cathedral has the best baseball team in the area as made evident by their state championship and run to the state tourney in legion baseball this summer.

Mixing Cathedral's position players with pitching from Logan Birr and WOW!

But, this is not about baseball...

Cathedral has the best hockey team in the city of St. Cloud. Mixing Cathedral's defense and first line with Apollo's first line and goalie would be a MUCH better team than Apollo's first line with Tech's Maetche and Miller.

In the future? Maybe in hockey. Still, not in every sport.
