Underclassmen
If anyone feels like taking the time and posting their opinion(s), rather than top players from a specific section, I'm always interested in who the top juniors...or sophomores are in the minds of fans who get to a fair number of games. Be they highly skilled...hard working...show promise, or any combination of attributes. Offense, defense & 'tenders...whichever, from where ever throughout the state. Always want to keep it positive with negative comments towards any players mentioned unnecessary.

Sade Lundquist (CEC) and Molly Arola (GRG) are outstanding juniors.
Dana Gallop (GRG) and Ashley Stenerson (Moorhead) are outstanding juniors.
Molly Illikainen (GRG) is a very good 8th grader.

warroad has a very good 14U goalie comming up and Morgan piper is good, Story has very good talent from there also. several good players on that team i can't name right now.
EGF has some young ones in scanlan, and hedlund, several others could be good.
Roseau- they're the rink rats most of there younger ones have high potential.
Crookston- they have wangen, lein, persson, a 14U goalie looking pretty good and some others that have yet to be seen.
theres more but tough to remember them all

Lots of very talented underclassmen coming up, but for junior forwards in the metro area, those that I'm familiar and most impressed with would include:
Sally Komarek - Blake
Becky Kortum - Hopkins
Lauren Zrust - Blaine
Megan Gilbert & Alex Nelson - Andover
Callie Dahl - Stillwater
Kelsey Romatoski - Holy Angels

I could be mistaken, but I thought there was a D from EGF...Pische or something similar maybe? Watched this player at phase 2 and thought she was quite good...very speedy, nice hands. May not have been from EGF though, can't recall.dmbenough2Bagoalie wrote:EGF has some young ones in scanlan, and hedlund, several others could be good.
I'm gonna add Gina McDonald (10th) and Meghan Lorence (9th) I think, from Irondale. Also King from Stillwater...a soph I think.
I have seen many of the players mentioned and agree all are talented players.

Parents, be sure to list your daughter's jersey number and college of choice so the scouts can take note

Seriously though, the thread did ask for some opinions. What stands out most in my mind is the number of very young underclassmen, in many cases 93's, who are having significant impact on their teams. Should be a heck of a NDP 15 this year.

My knowledge is limited to 9th and 10th graders - 92 & 93's - Above that I am not really sure other than who is on the EP team. I do know that Seeler is awesome! So is Feste, greene, gustafson, Ketcher.
Maddy Burke is a great goaltender. The goalie from Eagan and Burnsville are good. Not sure who number 8 is for Burnsville - but she is a player...

There are a number of solid and/or star sophs and juniors (the original point of this thread that I too missed
), but since they have usually been playing for a couple of years their strong performances are neither surprising or unexpected.
To try and get this back on track, have any unheralded juniors really stepped up their game this year?

Allison Malecek of Buffalo is a great junior....and no I'm not her parent, coach or related in any way!keepitreal wrote:There are a number of solid and/or star sophs and juniors (the original point of this thread that I too missed), but since they have usually been playing for a couple of years their strong performances are neither surprising or unexpected.

You are right on from what I have seen, the 93 class promises to be fantastic. And no I do not have a kid or relative invovled so no numbers, or names. 94's show great promise also.
