Something to have fun with. The following table summarizes who I think are the top three peewee A teams in each district. Any comments. I plan to duck and get out of the firing line.

Dist Team#1 Team#2 Team#3 My Comments
1 Irondale Mpls Park Highland Still early
2 White Bear Lake Forest Lake Roseville WBL will be tested
3 Wayzata Maple Grove Hopkins Unlikely to change
4 Rochester Red Faribault Mankato The Red are alone
5 Mound Westonka Buffalo Sartell Still early
6 Edina Apple Valley Eden Prairie Its a guess
8 Woodbury LV South Eagan Woodbury is #1
10 Elk River Anoka St. Cloud Tough league
11 Cloquet Duluth East Hermantown Cloquet is good
12 Grand Rapids Hibbing Virginia GR walks
15 Moorhead Brainerd Little Falls Moorhead tested
16 Warroad Crookston TRF Where is Roseau

I am very familiar w/ D10:

1. Coon Rapids (5-0-2)
2. Elk River (4-1-2) (tiedBlaine 12/1)
3A. Anoka (4-1-3) (Lost to Champlin 12/5) (tied Centennial on 12/3)
3B. Blaine (3-2-1) (Tied ER 12/1)
3C. Andover (4-2-0)
3D. St. Cloud (5-2-1)
3E. Centennial (4-2-1) (tied Anoka on 12/3 )
3F. Champlin-Park (2-3-0) (beat Anoka 12/5)
9. Cambridge/Isanti (2-4-0)
10. St. Francis/North Branch (2-5-0)
11. Rogers (0-7-1)
12. Sauk Rapids (0-6-0)

(EDIT: Updated the missing scores in () and updated records accordingly - 12/7)

Basically there are the top 2, the bottom 4, and then a jumbled mess between 3 and 8.
Any one of the above 3X teams could finish from 3rd to 8th.
Atleast this is the way that I would rank them as of right now, with each team 6-7 games into the D10 Season. Each team has 14-17 games still to play.

If you look on the D4 website, both Rochester teams are listed in the D4 Peewee A standings. If you look on the D8 standings, they have all the D4 and D8 teams listed, but the Rochester teams have a small "e" in front of them for which I assume means East and teams like Woodbury have an "n" for North. Further the Rochester teams do not play any league games against any North teams. My conclusion is that they are playing D4 in regular season.

Looks good to me.
I just had doubts about Warroad, after their game with Bemidji.

Coon Rapids and St. Cloud tied 1-1 on the week-end. Elk River has a number of early season loses, but has beaten Edina twice. They tied Blaine 5-5 on the weekend. Their first tourney is Moorhead so they really are sort of an unknown, but based on beating Edina twice, I put them at #1 in D10. There are a number of good teams after that including Coon Rapids, Anoka, Blaine and St. Cloud. I have seen Coon Rapids, Anoka and Blaine play twice or more and rate Anoka ahead of the other two. St. Cloud over Coon Rapids is a guess since I haven’t seen St. Cloud play yet.

Frederick - if you decide to go to Moorhead this weekend you'll get the opportunity to see 5 D10 teams play:
Andover, Anoka, Champlin-Park, Elk River & Rogers.

Plus top teams such as:
Grand Rapids, Roseau, Maple Grove, & Lakeville North.

Has Roseau Played anyone yet besides Rapids (loss 5-1) i think 'till they win a few big games their being talked about a little to highly. that said we will see what takes place this weekend. by the way i'm not bashing Roseau i'm just saying let's wait to give props until there earned.

By different I meant that once you agree on the top three in each District, you can now group the Districts into the Regions. If the alignment follows last years, that means:

North Region
D12-Grand Rapids and either Hibbing or Virginia
D15-Moorhead, Brainard, Little Falls
D16-Warroad, Roseau (still a question mark) and TRF

East Region
D11-Cloquet, Duluth East, Hermantown
D10-Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids or St. Cloud
D2-WBL and Forest Lake

South Region
D8-Woodbury, Lakeville South and Eagan
D4-Rochester and Faribault
D2-Roseville
D1-Irondale and Mpls Park

West Region
D6-Edina, Apple Valley and Eden Prairie
D3-Wayzata, Maple Grove and Hopkins
D5-Mound Westonka and Buffalo

Top two from each region goes to the state and usually the state winner is ranked #1.

I like what you are doing but I have to put my plug in for East Grand Forks in D16. IMO D16 should be Roseau (until somebody shows me different) East Grand Forks (TRF was a hiccup) and then either Crookston or Warroad.

the alignment does NOT follow the same as last season.
I don't have time to look it up now - but you can see it in the MN Hockey Handbook that is founds on www.minnesotahockey.org

Thanks guys. I went to the handbook and confirmed the regions and have adjusted for those districts that will be sending two teams (D4, D5, D8 and D10). That would give a potential regional setup as follows:

North Region
D10-Elk River and Anoka
D11-Cloquet, Duluth East, Hermantown
D12-Grand Rapids and either Hibbing or Virginia

East Region
D8-Woodbury and Lakeville South
D3-Wayzata, Maple Grove and Hopkins
D2-WBL, Forest Lake and Roseville

South Region
D6-Edina, Apple Valley and Eden Prairie
D4-Rochester Red and Faribault
D1-Irondale, Mpls Park and Highland

West Region
D5-Mound Westonka and Buffalo
D15-Moorhead, Brainard, Little Falls
D16-Warroad, Roseau (still a question mark) and TRF

An update to evaluating the peewee A teams. I have now added the seeds and started to look at last weeks play and this weeks games to be played. Any suggestions?
North Region
D10-#1-Elk River (played well enough in Moorhead tourney, have two league games this week)
D10-#2-Coon Rapids (rate #2 because they scheduled Wayzata, Anoka and Grand Rapids tourney this week. Anoka did okay in the Moorhead tourney, but can play better.)

D11-#1-Cloquet (plays Hermantown in D11 play this week)
D11-#2-Hermantown (placed second in Duluth Tourney)
D11-#3-Duluth East (East beat Hermantown and then turned around and lost to Rochester, Fargo and tied Centennial in their own tourney, drop to third?)

D12-#1-Grand Rapids (won the Moorhead tourney beating Anoka, Maple Grove, Lakeville North and South Fargo Flyers, playing in their own tourney on the weekend)
D12-#2-Hibbing (playing Grand Rapids this week)
D12-#3-Virginia

East Region
D8-#1-Lakeville South (Rates #1 with victories over Eagan and Woodbury, plays Cottege Grove and Rosemount this week)
D8-#2-Woodbury (Drops to #2 with lost to Lakeville South 4-3 in D8. Playing Red Wing Tourney on week end)

D3-#1-Wayzata (Rates #1, plays Coon Rapids and St. Louis Blues Jrs AAA this week)
D3-#2-Maple Grove (Had a good Moorhead tourney-beat Roseau and pushed Grand Rapids, plays league games this week)
D3-#3-Hopkins (Lost to Apple Valley 6-2, plays in Grand Rapids Tourney on the week end)

D2-#1-Forest Lake (idle last week, play league game and Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids Tourney)
D2-#2-North St Paul (unbeaten in D2 play, plays Moundsview on Friday)
D2-#3-WBL (played in Duluth Tourney, lost to Edina 8-3, league game this week)

South Region
D6-#1-Edina (rolled through Duluth Tourney, plays Apple Valley Friday and St Louis Blues Jr team on Saturday)
D6-#2-Apple Valley (added a league win and beat Hopkins, plays Edina and Moorhead)
D6- #3-Eden Prairie (added a league win and tied Burnsville, plays Chaska)

D4-#1-Rochester (made the semifinals of Duluth tourney losing to Hermantown 5-4 in OT, two D4 games this week)
D4-#2-Faribault (played league game and is in New Ulm Tourney)

D1-#1-Irondale (idle, play three league games this week)
D1-#2-Mpls Park (Beat Washburn 4-1, play Irondale on Friday)
D1-#3-Highland (play Irondale this week)

West Region
D5-#1-Mound Westonka (have one league game this week)
D5-#2-Buffalo (have two league games this week)

D15-#1-Moorhead (lost first game of their tourney and won the Red Wing (Moorhead) tourney with victories over Andover, Roseau and Fergus Falls, should be demoted because everybody is guessing at the results of their tourney, will be playing in the cities this week end)
D15-#2-Fergus Falls (lost to Moorhead in the finals of the Red Wing (Moorhead) tourney, 4-2)
D15-#3-Brainerd (Beat Rogers, then lost 3 straight in Moorhead tourney)

D16-#1-Warroad (will play Roseau this week in addition to being in Grand Forks for a couple of games)
D16-#2-Roseau (played in Moorhead tourney, lost to Maple Grove, beat Anoka, lost to Moorhead, and beat still a question mark)
D16-#3-TRF

Unless something has changed drastically, District 1 will only take 2 teams to the Regional Tournament.
They "give" their #3 seed to another district that has only 2 seeds.
This tends to happen only at the 'A' levels in D1. They do this when there are less than 8 teams playing at a given level with-in the District.

I am guessing this year, that #3 spot will go to the 3rd seed from District 8 - the other option could be giving it to the #3 seed from District 10.

The Rochester teams are playing in the D4/D8 East and will be returning to D8 for districts, regions, etc. By the way Faribault beat Rochester Red 4-3 this year in Rochester. Faribault is 10-1 with their only loss being to the Duluth Lakers 6-5 (Faribault was up 5-1 with 10 minutes left in the third in the semi's of the Cloquet Tourney, but a 10 minute misconduct and other penalities doomed Faribault to play 3 on 5 the rest of the game, and they subsequently lost).
