What are your thoughts?

To me, people in other places don't understand unless they've lived in Minnesota and absorbed the culture.

The fact that that goofball is collecting donations to attend the WCHA Final Five in "Minneapolis" discredits everything he said.

I read another blogger in Anchorage who said more-or-less the same thing about Minnesota about a year ago. Those people really have their undies in a bunch over us down here.

All I know is that the following quote from the article was really funny:

"The annual high school state tournament produces more erections in Minnesota hockey fandom than viagra."

Hey that was fun to read!

It was interesting when he talked about the percentages with Alaska and Minnesota. It seems that so many kids are playing hockey because their parents guide them that way. There has been a tremendous lack of love for the game. Kids especially in the metro area play hockey to get better and then lose focus on why they play the game. If Minnesotan kids truly loved the game, they would play hours on end on a daily basis.

It was probably that damn GR19!

Yes, I don't appreciate a blatant disrespect towards our great hockey heritage and our right to the title "State of Hockey". Suze and Jimmyjam needed to be backhanded.

If Alaska was not so far away maybe more MN kids would play there instead of D3.

6. Officials of HS games know not to call icing on a team that is short handed.

8. Your local sporting goods store sells a stick that you would actually consider using.
9. There are at least three local places that you trust to sharpen your skates.
10. You were comfortable with the concept of the athletic supporter years before you could hoist a puck high enough to hit the crossbar.

This guy is basing his whole argument solely on one statistic. There is clearly more to being titled the "State of Hockey" then the percent of current players who will succeed to division 1 hockey, how about the rich tradition of hockey that lies within the state?

And oh yeah, there's this place called Canada attached to your eastern border that puts you to shame
