South St. Paul has a nice 4-1 record with a win over Cloquet already. Hill-Murray better get over Tartan quick and be prepared for a team that won't just roll over and die. Could be an interesting little game with WBL on tap Saturday...

I would imagine Lech has the Pioneers skating pretty hard this week.

It will be ugly Thursday, Pioneers by a dozen.

Saturday will be ugly too, but the Pioneers will spend too much time in the box to rack up a dubble didget number. 7-1.

I assume that Phillipi will be playing the WBL game and sitting the SSP game. He's a good goalie but his puck handling makes one nervous. Almost had an icing jump his stick for a goal in the Tartan game as he was trying to head man it out of the zone. Seemed out of position on the first Tartan goal. That's what could be the achilles heal of this team - goaltending.

Phillipi is very good. And like you mentioned, sometimes very exciting!

Phillipi is so overrated. He is an average goalie on a very good team. The kid has no shot to play D-1. People need to quit pretending he is a top goaltender

Dont jump on the Goalie too quickly. He may have had a less than desirable outcome But He was not the reason Hill lost. 2 goals for isnt alot to work with. A Lack of goal production is a major factor in there loss
Also as stated before Hill didnt show up to play. If the intensity was there for all three periods they dont lose that game. And I agree SSP could walk away with a win if the boys look past them to WBL.

This has nothing to do with the previous game, I wasn't even there. I'm stating he is average based on his track record and what I've seen.

I think the Pioneers will be ready for this game. The Tartan loss is not the end of the world to them. They really didn't play that badly Saturday as they did fire 47 shots on net. It was just one of those games that the puck wouldn't go in.

I don't think Lech had to say too much to the kids. The captians & seniors usually step in & address the issues that arise during the course of the year. I wasn't at the Tartan game, but I suspect it wasn't for a total lack of effort. I'm sure the kids played hard, but just didn't finish. Give credit to Tartan's goalie & for Tartan for cashing in on the few chances they got. Hill has had their way with the pack over the years & I suspect if Hill hops out to an early lead, they may coast.

Must agree with PPG, the seniors and leaders learned a quick lesson from the Tartan loss and know they don't want that to happen again. As for the game, I'll say H-M gets back on track and wins 6-1.
