Team Intros and Sportsmanship

Was at a game the other night and the home team stayed in their locker room while the visiting team was introduced. The home team then made an entrance on the ice. It struck me as disrespectful to the visiting team and unsportsmanlike. I was simply in attendance at the game so not a strong tie to either team. Is this type of "entrance" common place in the state? Have been at HS games with all kinds of lights, various intro styles but this was a first to me in terms of the home team not being on the ice during visitors intros and seemed to be in conflict with the sportsmanship creed that was read during their warm-ups.
Curious other thoughts and experiences. Personally not into all the hoopla and prefer basic intros, national anthem and drop the puck.

I know Coon Rapids used to do this, dont know if that's who you're talking about but they've done it since Potter took over coaching there

Intentionally did not indicate who the team was but it was not Coon Rapids. Interesting that they do that though.
I am just curious about others' thoughts regarding a home team not being on the ice during visitor's team introductions. Is it disrespectful to the visiting team or is that just another intro style?

This strikes me as disrespectful and unsportsmanlike as well. Never seen it happen myself.

I have not seen that before, but I would feel the same as you - that is extremely poor sportsmanship!

Unless it was done in the spirit of showmanship. Anything to add a little drama and excitement can only help create interest and viewer enjoyment. However if it was done to intimidate, well then I’m all for it.
