St Thomas won 4-2 for the first time in quite a few meetings. This could go either way and Aldrich will probably be packed. Only one of these two will have a shot at playing at the X on the 28th.

Being around the holiday, what will attendance be like? I was at the STA/Edina game last year and it was dead. Will this rivalry game be packed as usual, or will it be dead again?

I except a small crowd becuase they did just play each other one week earlier and CDH has its winter dance the night of the game.

All I know is I'm excited to see them live.

Kurt Altrichter has gotten the majority of the time. With Zach Wynne coming off a shutout over Tartan, will he get the start or will it be Kurt again having the experience against Cretin? Vanelli said on FSN that they are still experimenting, but is there one or the other that is better?

Cretin will prevail in a shoot-out.

Altrichter will definitely be the one in nets. STA didn't need a goalie against Tartan (10 shots, zero scoring chances), and Wynne hasn't proven himself yet against a stronger opponent.

How does Schwan's do it when the first OT ends in a tie? Is it a shootout or do they play until there's a winner?

That's what I figured about Altrichter and the goalie situation, thought what Vanelli said seemed kinda odd.

STA will lead the season series 2-0 after this one with a 3-1 win.

STA has plays too fast pace of a game. Cretin isn't as physical as they used to be either. I don't think they will be able to slow down the speedy Cadets. STA wins 5-2

STA 6
CDH 2

The first HS game I've seen live this year and I was very impressed, it was a very exciting game to watch. St Thomas dominated the 2nd period, and the puck was rarely on their end.

I was really disappointed with the many no-calls tonight. There was plenty of tripping by both teams not called, a missed interference call resulting in a goal, plenty of hitting after the whistle, and a few other misc things. Not one sided at all, went both ways, just disappointing.

Very surprised at home quick the Cadets are and how much passing they do. This was definitely a different team than the one who showed up to play Cretin a week ago. Playing how they did tonight, this group of boys can play with anyone.
