Does anyone know the cutoff date for adding a player to a HS (Varsity or JV) roster?

so if you are asking about moving from JV to Varsity; a JV player is already considered the part of a HS team and can be added anytime to the Varsity roster based on coach's needs or wishes
To join now they would not be eligible for section or state competition; however the way I read it they could play during the season.
