last I heard, Roseville was up 2-0 in the third.

Any info on the game? Hot goalie, no scoring chances for the spuds?

Roseville wins 3-0. Neither team looked impressive but Roseville got some great individual plays from Adam Mueller and Paul Dettling to get their goals. Roseville's goalie played well but Moorhead's inability to finish was a bigger factor in the shutout.

I can't agree. The Spuds didn't start let alone finish. Thier offense was lack-luster at best posting somewhere around 17 SOG all game. Roseville had 2x that amount. I wouldn't say that Roseville was steller tonight but they clearly outplayed Morehead in all facets of the game. I suspect they will have thier hands full with Tonka tommorow but I wouldn't write them off.

ps- I do agree with the comment that Dettling and Mueller played well tonight. Mueller showed why hes a WCHA pick and Dettling knows that he got a hat (even if the ref's erroniously waved off what should have been his second of three goals)

From my vantage point, the game was won because Roseville's #1 and #2 lines played well in the 2nd and 3rd period. Moorhead did not lose because they couldn't finish but rather because they ran into a better team.

I too saw what I thought was an additional goal for Roseville. It appeared that the puck hit that back of the net and came out so fast that the referee (who was definitly out of position) did not see it.

I really liked watching the play of Roseville's #19 and #20. These guys are hustlers who create opportunities for thier linemates who, tonight, were able to capitalize.

If the goaltending holds up, I like the Raiders in the semis over the Skippers.

Well there were stretches where Moorhead outplayed Roseville, though I would agree that Roseville had the upper hand for the majority of the game. Moorhead had their chances to score despite the disparity in shots, but they couldn't put the puck in the net. There was one shot that came close, hitting the post. What I was trying to say was that it wasn't a spectacular game from the goalie that got the shutout, it was Moorhead's ineffectiveness in the offensive zone.

And it wasn't a pretty game, at one point in the third period Roseville iced the puck three or four times in a minute and there were so many stoppages in that period that I thought the DJ was going to run out of songs to play during the down time. Neither team looked very sharp, there were a lot of missed passes and sloppy play.

I thought Dettling in particular turned it up a notch in the third period. The missed goal that you mentioned came when he got around two Moorhead players in the zone, came in alone on net and finished nicely, except that the refs were out getting a hot dog or something and missed it. That was arguably the best play of the game. Dettling did get a goal later on a bad angle shot that he earned by beating a Spud to the puck and getting the shot on net.

One of the knocks on Mueller that I've seen on the board here is that he can be a selfish player and there was evidence of that during one of Roseville's power plays when he tried to squeeze past two Moorhead players at his own blue line and coughed up the puck. I heard someone near me saying 'He tried to beat two guys, that means there were two guys that were open'. In Mueller's defense he made a nifty pass from behind the net to set up the first goal and was probably the best player on either team.

I'd agree with 24boarding that Roseville's 19 and 20 hustled and were fun to watch although no.19 took a dumb penalty in the 2nd period to give Moorhead their first power play.

I didn't see the Minnetonka-Centennial game but if Minnetonka has a more potent offense than Moorhead they should be able to get past the Raiders.
