In the battle of the Royals, I like the Woodbury Royals. Havent seen any of Hopkins and they have a good record so I'm not too certain with this pick.

I like the eastsiders in this battle "Royal"

Hopkins has proven they can win this year, but they need to show they can win a big game. Only legit team they have played so far is Anoka but, that was an eye opener.

I'll take Hopkins.

I realize they haven't played a very "aggressive" schedule to this point, but I don't think Woodbury has any very impressive "marquee" wins either. They did beat Tartan and Forest Lake, those are good wins - nothing major though.

After finally getting to see Hopkins the past couple of days, I now have an opinion of them... they're consistent. They played a full 51 minutes in both the games I saw, took it straight to Anoka and just wore Johnson down. They didn't blow me away with the talent, but they have good, solid lines - there isn't a great deal of dropoff from one to another, and both goalies appear to be pretty steady.

If they can keep Woodbury close through the first period, they'll win. In the games against Anoka & Johnson, they got stronger as the games went along and both the Tornadoes and Govs couldn't keep up - I'll predict the same for Woodbury.

Hopkins 5-3.

This definitely will be Woodbury's first real test of the season.

I'll take Woodbury by 1
I've missed about everything I've picked lately, so that will give the Govs something to razz me about, or vise versa.
But if Woodbury beat Tartan and Flake who beat Hill and Grand Rapids respectively I'll go with that that thought process.

No need to play the game now. This cements it. Hopkins will win.

I heard Woodbury was without David Eddy because of a suspension or something like that. Anyone at the game know if this is fact?

No David Eddy was not in the lineup... he got a game misconduct in the game before
Dane Erickson was not in the lineup that night either... he broke his hand
With those two out that is most of Woodbury's scoring power not in the game

Adam Kopp is also out with an injury.

All 3 of them played on first line together at some point this season. That's a killer
