Corey Leiverman 'nuff said...he is a stal and can work it well. He did lead the state in points untill he got kicked out of a game in the first and out for the next game. Well maybe i should say Mankato West in general, they have torn it up. Even tho they have had a pretty weak schedule they have been good and can work with anyone.

I am goin with Jefferson. I figured they might shock some teams but they are playing with all opponents and playing some very good hockey. They also have a stand out goalie that may help them make a run into March barring any miscues or injuries that cannot be determined at this time.

Hopkins. After losing their best player from last year (Fink), I thought they'd be pretty bad. Yet they have been doing rather well with some good young talent.

Yes, they haven't had a tremendously challenging schedule to this point and have tough games ahead..... but they have done well so far.

How about Osseo
7-3 record
Ranked
17th PS2
16th Mitch
15th QRF
and 21st Followthepuck.

That's a surprise to me, and a nice one for them I'm sure!

So far Jefferson is a big surprise!

The biggest disappointment has to be Centennial at this point. All 3 classes were in the state bantam championship. I do believe they will turn it around when it counts the most.

Surprise, Surprise

Gomer Pyle likes Hopkins as his surprise, surprise to date.

Hopkins is a real shocker and they have been waiting a long time for this.

Jefferson, this is suspose to be their 1st of 2 developmental years before the real show. If this is what they can do with their sophomores then I smell a state championship in the near future.

STA shows they can skate with the big schools, time to go AA?

Roseau maintains the tradition....8 in 08'?

North Dakota Produces some great teams this year!, to bad Minneasota (Roseau and Jefferson) had to show em' their still not quite ready to skate with Minnesota's best.

Hopkins with Mankato a close 2nd...they have a weak schedule...they go north and would get slaughtered...Hopkins has a tougher schedule later in the year....I am sure this list will probably change....

I would give Minnetonka a vote too...they are succeeding with losing top player last year. Their Defense has been outstanding this year giving them consistant point production - plus they have a tough schedule.

Check Jefferson's record wasn't the RR-Jefferson game officially a tie with RR outshooting them over two to one - sure Jefferson "won" in a shootout after overtime. And didn't Roseau dominate their match-up with Jefferson only to have Jefferson get the same great goaltending to make it look even close. The Baby Blues should maybe give their goalie some good lovin' as without his play they were dominated by both teams they played. I realize a goalie is part of the team but he can only carry a team so far...heck he's gonna be awfully tired by sections carrying a whole team on his shoulders for another two months.

I believe it was the '04 season (I could be wrong on the year) that Shakopee went to state with only 9 or 10 wins INCLUDING SECTIONS. That was also on a goaltenders shoulders... Not to mention, they are using a 2 goalie system which will help keep the tenders fresh... I dont see Jefferson running into any such problems.

Hands down Hopkins. They indeed have been waiting a while to hit it big, and they really are. They've had some big wins along the way, and this may be a strong year for the Royals.

Thus far this year, I have enjoyed seeing Tonka do well and beat my favorite team ever, HM. :D

Also, I like seeing WB hang in there after their losses this year.

But seriously, if it doesnt make you joyful down to the bone that Sarsland and his Elks are having a less than normal season, than your nuts. :D

Maybe you're thinking of Hibbing? In 04 Hibbing went into the state tourney with a record of 11-14-1.

No I know it was Shakopee but cant remember the exact year. It was within a year or 2 of my graduation so it was between 2002 and 2005... I remember looking at the paper and seeing some outrageously bad record and a column written on the goaltender alone. He made something like 50 saves in the section championship and had 2 shutouts in the section playoffs for them to get to the dance... I am looking it up and will get back to ya.

wbmd continues to correct peoples' spelling since he has nothing else to write about and that people posters continue to post rude comments about so many for no reason except to be rude...oh, wait, that doesn't surprise me.

The Classic Suburban taking the two top spots on the PS2 rankings for two in a row does though.
