I tried when I was a kid, but I never really got into it. I think the only card I still have from when I was young is the Billy Ripken "F*** Face" card.

I did really dig the Pannini baseball stickers though. The album was always extra cheesy too. Great stuff.

The only thing I seem to collect is the trash, and empty beer cans...at least that's what she says. I do have a few birthday cards saved. :D

My kids have a bunch of cards, and some really nice ones.

I have one of those typical sob stories about collecting cards and comic books through junior high, only to discover later in life, when I heard how valuable some had become, that my mom had sold them in a garage sale while I was in college.

I had some great ones- autographed Roberto Clemente rookie card (my all-time most favorite player), Mickey Mantle rookie card, Spiderman #1, Thor #1 .........never collected after Junior High and I stay away from even looking at what some of those sell for now......hmmmm wonder if I could sue mom?? I think she knew what she was doing

tomass you had an auto clemente and a mantle rc card! wow i would be so pissed my mom would have to pay me in installments! alot of people burned those cards or put them in ther bike spokes back when it was cool.

I got a plastic bin full, nothing real valuable though. A lot of commons and I wasn't hardcore. I just liked getting the cards, picking some guys I like and then seeing them in the majors a few years later.

yeah! how many pieces were you able to get into your mouth at one time because there was no where else to keep it once you opened the packs.

what was it 5 cents for a pack of 5 and gum?

I spent plenty of quarters at Stav's Superette (corner of University and Mississippi Rd)

Are they looking to get the gum or the cards?

If they have him wear another jersey, that gives them more that they can put in packs as game worn.

Although I'd think with Kirby that they'd have more than enough jersey to make a few cards out of.

I would venture to guess that this is from a Spring Training photo shoot that are very common. It obviously was not taken at the Metrodome and Kirby is wearing the home jersey. I'm guessing they just had him throw on a jersey with plans of photoshopping or cropping the number out of it and this card somehow slipped through the editorial process. I'm also pretty sure they didn't cut this jersey up for use as "game worn" because as you see in the card the "game worn" jersey is part of the road greys.

This sounds kind of funny... don't know if it belongs on a baseball card though - maybe an internet Photoshop pic or something instead.
