Does Roseville deserve the #1 spot?

Haven't seen them play, what makes them #1 with no D-1 players on their squad? Or do they have some?

Of course they deserve the number one spot, they have beaten two of the unbeaten teams that they need to, are you trying to say that EP or Stillwater deserve the number one spot over them?? Why does the team have d1 players to be good, what ever happened to playing as a team, its not a one girl show!!

How about this? EP, Stillwater, and GRG each have only one loss. All to Roseville. Is that good enough for you?
And what's the fixation with DI players on a given roster? There seems to be a lot of talk about that. Who the heck cares about this as long as a team plays as a team. I don't think Stillwater was loaded with DI players last year (did any seniors get DI scholarships--I don't remember any). Roseville was a state tournament team last year with only one. This year Roseville is fast, quick, very tough, and relentless. I wouldn't trade that combination for 2 super-duper stars.

Right now, they deserve #1. There is no question about it. D1 talent doesn't always equal state championship. It is the best group of girls that can play together as one. Right now, Roseville is playing awesome team hockey. In fact, they have all season long.

They deserve a #1 rank IMO. They're a very good team capable of beating anyone. Really only one weakness IMO...a weakness they've had for the past few seasons at least.
Gee...I wonder if this comment has the potential to ruffle some feathers?

You mean playing in the same conference (and now section) as Stillwater?

Nicely played.

You could make a case for Roseville, EP, GR, and Stillwater to be #1. Roseville did beat EP and Stillwater but they also lost to both of them and they have 2 more losses. So I could accept any one of those teams being ranked first. Stillwater also leads Roseville in the SEC conference. Roseville was missing one of their horses when Stillwater beat them and Stillwater was missing two of their best players when they lost to Roseville. The next matchup should be interesting as the rumor is Stillwater will be a full strength within a week or two.

Nah...speaking of an "on ice" weakness. Okay, I'll spill it...personally, I don't feel Roseville has been real strong in goal, the last few seasons at least.

The only #1 spot that matters is the State Championship

I'll have to weigh in to say I felt the RV goaltender played a strong game against SW in the Kaposia final. She and a couple of the defenders held their team in it until RV could get something going and that took a while. RV ended up outshooting SW in that paticular game, but I felt SW had the better scoring opportunities overall. RV has a couple of nice young forwards along with Babineau and I was very impressed with how hard the team worked in that game.
Teams fluctuate during the season; it will be interesting to see which way both of these team are swinging when they meet again in the last game and a very possible showdon in sections.
So brooky, what's the story? Is #8 going to make it back?

Roseville can have the #1 rating cause the hardest thing to do is keep it
I think Grand Rapids-Greenway could be there as well with the success they have had.

I wish I knew the answer to that...and I really wish the answer was she'll be back soon. I've heard everything from lost for the remainder of the season to possibly back in two weeks (from now). All I know for sure is #8 herself isn't to keen on the possibility of missing the rest of her junior season...to put it mildly.

The answer in my opinion would be absolutely. This year you could flip a coin to position the top four teams and you would probably be alright However, after seeing all four play this year this is how I would rank them;
1 EP
2 Roseville
3 Stillwater
4 GR

Absolutely, they earned it.
They are playing very well as a team at the moment. There are some teams in that top ten that will need to prove themselves in these last weeks of the season though. It's just a poll...

Roseville doesn't deserve the top spot after a 2-2 tie with White Bear. Holy cow, what happened?

They didn't even lose the game and you are saying "holy cow"? WBL is a very good club. With that being said, I don't know if you watch NCAA football, but did you see how many times #1 and #2 lost this season? There is a lot of pressure being up there. You have to play great every night. There are huge targets on your back.

This just shows once again that parity has arrived in MN Girls High School Hockey. It makes it exciting and is great for the sport. The top ten teams are all very good and on any given night, anything can happen.

They deserve where they are simply because they have beaten the three other teams in the top four.
But...its rankings and there is going to be valid arguements for each of those four teams mentioned. There are so many factors in high school hockey that affect gameplay as opposed to higher levels like college and pro's for da boys.
High school hockey is like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get. (especially when its girls)

Are you kidding, ranked #20 LPH, #15 QRT, WBL is a solid club with a top-notch goalie. They also played #3 Stillwater and #2 Rapids tough. Both these games they were in them enough to have won. Also have wins against Centennial, Blaine, CDH and Hastings, so this tie is no shame. Conference games especially rivalries are almost always close

Give WBL some credit, they are a hard working team with one of the best goalies in the state. Section 4AA is looking very tough.

Agreed! After watching them play last night I was impressed! Awesome goaltender!
