As for a team that could pull off an upset in the section, you would have to look at Hastings.

Tier 1
1. Woodbury - getting better each week, young players contributing and gaining confidence
2. Rosemount - tough schedule will they stay healthy
Tier 2
3. CDH - hasn't impressed as years past not enough there
4. Eastview - ???
5. Eagan - what happened here expected much more
6. AV - proving the zoo is in the right city
Tier 3
7. Hastings - could play spoiler but the glass slipper came out to early as will the exit door
8. Park - just too young in the wrong places
9. Henry Sibley - wrong section for this squad, they need to pray for the old 92-93 Tier 2 tourney to see the next round

If i am not mistaken hastings finished 2-1 in the rochester tournament and AV had lost to a team that Hastings took care of with no problems? As for Eagan Hastings beat them if i am not mistaken? Without Waxlax i presume also?

There isn't any doubt in my mind that either rosemount or eastview will come out of this section, they both play very competitive schedules to prepare them for big games come section time....they both have the talent abd i would think they'd have the desire to work to make it to state....but Rosemount or Eastview in my mind seems like a safe bet

Woodbury and Rosemont should definetly be the favorites.. Cretin could have a chance but if i had to pick a sleeper it would be Eastview. Watching Eastview in the Schwan's Cup Championship was suprrising. Grant it, they were playing Mahtomedi, but i was impressed with what i saw. However, i would not call them a favorite to win the section. I do agree that their schedule should help them when it comes time for sections.

I would have to say Woodbury would be the favorite here, they've been playing very well lately and I would think anyone in this section would struggle to beat them. Rosemount would have a shot with JT Brown and also possibly Cretin if they start playing better.

there should probably be some doubt in your mind because woodbury is the favorite to win this section and i must say i agree. they r getting better every week. wigen has improved vastly in the net over the season (absolutely stonewalled roseville) and the young players (5 (4.5?) sophomores at varsity level) are really stepping up. and they have david eddy, of course

Rosemount, without question

agreed. This is a down year for this new section, and an up year for the lake. I would have originally thought woodbury might be a contender, but they have lost some to some easy teams, and they do not have a tough schedule to prepare them for the section.
Eastview is my pick, as I feel they have been continuallly gaining steam. I think Rosemount is a contender, but I think Eastview should be able to handle them at the rate they are maturing.

I have to agree with you on Woodbury not having a tough schedule to prepare them for the section.
When the schedules came out, I was hoping to see some tougher non-conference opponents on there. Hopefully they do toughen it up for next season.

Hey Pucknutz the Zoo is actually in the EASTVIEW district. Cretin has no chance in this section. I would pray to get them in the semi's. Rosemount is the best team. Haven't you guys been checking the standings. They are in first in the Lake. The Lake has 5 very good teams in Jefferson, Rosemount, Burnsville, Eden Prairie and Eastview. Three of them could go to State. Won't that make the Northerners happy

Prediction: Rosemount vs. Eastview to go to State. Also Lakeville North Vs. Lakeville South in the weakest Section of them all.

It should come down to a Rosemount vs Woodbury/Eastview section final with it not being even close either way. Eastview has to find the consistant goaltending just to get to the finals and I have not seen 3 straight performances in net for them this season. Woodbury might be getting better but they still have to beat the Spehar breakout Rosemount uses with JT Brown and Percy. I wouldnt rule out Hastings yet either. They have progressed decently and were on a role. Will Waxlax's exit there is only 2 ways Hastings can go and I would bet they push themselves to get better with out his attitude.

I would look for a Rosemount Eastview final here. They both have much tougher schedules than Woodbury or Cretin. Easatview is getting a bit stronger and Rosemount is showing that you will have to give a phenomenal effort in order to beat them, especially come section time.
Woodbury already lost to Rosemount, and they just lost some super iffy games. Even if they didnt have some of their starters in, it may hurt them for seedings.

Rosemount would be my favorite right now.
(In no order)
TOP TEAMS
1. Rosemount-playing well now, goaltending has been solid for them lately they are not scoring like they started to this year with 6 or 7 goals a game.
2. Woodbury-don't know alot but they seem to be doing things right
3. Eastview-good 1st line, need productivity out of the rest, goaltending is inconsistent.
TEAMS THAT COULD PULL UPSET
1. Hastings-Beat Roseville and Woodbury already, but could also lose by 5 goals to those teams. Not as good as Cretin but better upset shot.
2. Apple Valley-Also seems to give teams a tough game no matter how regular season went. Was up on Rosemount in the 3rd this year already. Playing a team 3 times in a season makes it that much harder.
3. CDH- They have some 2 goal games with some good teams but they haven't done anything to show they'll knock them off yet.
4. Eagan-Beat B'Ville but besides that has not done alot this year, upset would be because of great goaltending in a game.
QUICK EXIT
1. Park-They beat WBL one game but besides that been a season to forget for the most part.
2. Henry Sibley-Not much to say besides better luck next year

I believe it will be Rosemount vs Woodbury to go to State with Rosemount on top.

This section will definitely be won by either Eastview or Rosemount, both of these teams have beat the bad teams they've played and have won some quality games. Rosemount has beaten Jefferson and Burnsville, and Eastview took down Tonka. I like Eastview to end up winning this one.
When it comes to the state tournament though, whoever wins this section is losing in the first round, without question. Here's an idea: Section 3AA and 1AA winners have a play-in game to get to state and some combination of section 2AA, 4AA and 6AA runner-ups hold a playoff to get to state.
