It is too bad St. Cloud charges so much to get into this tournament. I think it keeps a lot of good clubs out. Picking Bemidji to win it all.

No charge this year to get in to the tournament. The teams paid 300.00 in advance.

agree with all above except Green. St. Cloud will be the winner. They trounced Minnetonka when they played them last.

I think he meant the costs that the team had to pay, not the spectators.

These were the 4 finalist.
Bemidji beat Grand Forks
Minnetonka beat Moorhead
Bemidji beat Minnetonka in OT.

It did go to head-to-head. Here is the rule from the program and available from the website...
Division Winners
1. Best record
2. In case of a 2-way tie, winner of the 2 tied teams.

Here's what happened with the green division:
1. Best Record - Burnsville, Minnetonka, and St. Cloud were all 2-1.
2. Head - to - head - all teams were 1-1 against eachother.
3. Goal differential - Minnetonka and St. Cloud were both +6 and Burnsville was 0 so that knocked Burnsville out.
4. Goals Against - The rules never state that it goes back to head to head so it goes to goals against and Minnetonka had 7 and St. Cloud had 11 making Tonka the winner.

FYI - Rules clearly state that if there is a tie after the first tiebreaker in a 3 way tie you use the quotient to determine the winner (see below). Therefore, Minnetonka was the winner of bracket play. You kind of made it sound like it wasn't clear.
Division Winners
Minnesota Hockey State Tournament Rules will apply to determine division winners:
a) Champion: Best record, two (2) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie and zero (0) points for a loss.
b) In case of a two (2) way tie, winner of the game between two (2) tied teams. If the game ended in a tie,
see C, then D, then E.
c) In case of a three (3) or four (4) way tie, spread between goals for and goals against in all divisional play
-highest spread wins.
d) If still tied: divide goals for by goals against team, with highest quotient wins. e) If still tied after above, a
coin flip will determine the winner.
