I would have to say Faribualt, New Ulm, and New Prague

District 4 Bantam A

1. Faribault - clearly the top team.
2/3 (tie) New Ulm/New Prague - I think New Ulm is slightly better, but its very close.
4/5 (tie) Owatonna/Albert Lea - Owatonna plays everyone evenly and Albert Lea overplays their better players. If Owatonna would play their better players more they would win most games against Albert Lea.
6. Mankato - down year, but getting better as year progresses
7. St Peter - plays most league teams close, but lacks depth.
8. Waseca - B team playing A hockey
9. Austin - B team playing A Hockey
*Mason City is not eligible for post season

Can't argue with Faribault, New Ulm plays with a ton of grit, haven't seen NP yet. AL/Owatonna split like always, have to laugh at the "overplay" statement, only 11 skaters. Owatonna has the more consistent goaltending and coach for Owatonna always has his team peaking at playoff time. Mankato knocked AL off and can sneak up on anyone, Waseca is capable of an upset on 4 or 5, below that it will be tough for those teams. AL plays NP today and after a tight game with NU (6-4 with an EN goal), we will see if anything can change. I love the way Owatonna always elevates for playoffs, hat's off to Andy.

I should have clarified. What I meant by "overplay" was Albert Lea will send their best players out on power plays/penalty kills/ or crucial situations and Owatonna will send out their weakest players regardless of the situation? Both teams have good coaches. I was just saying if Owatonna would play their top players more "overplay" they would beat Albert Lea most of the time instead of splitting every year.

NP-3 AL-0
Pretty good game, Miracle assessments are pretty dead-on. NP goaltender is the best I have seen in D4. When AL did put alot of pressure on, he controlled everything.

Faribo is the strongest, based on the season so far. New Ulm plays great as a team. Mankato is down even though they beat AL 7-4. Owatonna seems to get stronger around districts. Haven't seen NP.

jackstraw may be the key. . .

New Prague just won the hudson tourney. Offense and defense were on through the whole tourney. Only 4 goals let in, and one was a deflection off of another NP player. The games were against Coon Rapids, Hudson, and Verona.

I was at my cousins peewee tourney in Hudson and watched NP play in the finals. They were down 2-1 in the 3rd period to a bunch of little 7th and 8th grade cheeseheads and pulled out a win. They looked like a bunch of giants out there and some #6 kid from cheeseland was really good. NP took a bunch of cheap penalties and were trying to kill a couple little guys. Np goalie was very good but the little guy hung right with them.

How many teams from district 4 move on to regionals in Albert Lea?

Two D4 teams get a trip to Regionals, I think

by FREDFLINTSTONE
that would mean district 1 will send 3.

And getting to regions is where district 1 and 4s run ends, since any team in those 2 districts would not finish in the top 5 in district 6.

Austin is having a tough time this year. They do have a good coach but the bantams are really down.

Only one first round game that should be close, AL/Owatonna. NP against NU in the second round should be a great game, both Owatonna or AL will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to beat Far. Owatonna has done this before, always peaking at the right time. AL will have some extra motivation as regionals are in AL this year. Help me out here, is AL the only team with 2 goaltenders?
