I honestly don't think I've seen any movie with him in it... I was planning on seeing the next Batman though.

I've just gotten to the age where it now skeeves me out whenver somebody younger than me dies. It's sad.

Not even Brokeback Mountain? I would've thought you to be a big western fan Govs? It is a shame when these young adults die. Just goes to show that fame and fortune is not everything in life.

Brokeback Mountain? Was he a St. Thomas grad?

Gov's you've got a ways to go. We should start our own "bucket list" of things that'll freak you out about "maturing". From reading a classmates obit, to gray pubes. Wouldn't be thin books stuff.

There are two "Westerns" that I've liked... Unforgiven, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (although I hear 3:10 to Yuma is good - I'll have to rent it at some point). Somehow Brokeback Mountain hasn't ascended to the top of my "to watch" list... not that there's anything wrong with that.

I grew up on the Eastside when it was still heavily Irish & Italian... I like mob movies!

Probably the greatest Irish "themed" movie ever. Made me incredibly proud to be Mc!

So they should've called it "3:00 to Yuma" :?: :)

Heath Who??

Sorry, heard it on the news and I didn't know such a name or person existed.

Why is his work any greater than the next person's?? Why is his death more newsworthy than than a death of any of our soldiers.

Sorry - I just don't get it

Still nothing Tom?

And 3:10 To Yuma is a pretty damn good movie IMO. Not up there with Unforgiven, but better than any recent western.

Agreed.
Enough of the celebrity worshipping, already.
Why do folks watch the Emmy awards? Oscars? Grammy's? What makes these professional award ceremonies any more significant than similar ceremonies in other fields?
It's the same thing when people actually listen to the political musings from a celebrity. What makes their opinions more valid than my next door neighbor's?

Sure, it is absolutely sad that a young man died. It's sadder still that he apparently caused his own death. But realistically, far more sad, honorable, and noteworthy deaths occur everyday.

The grim reality, here, is that this guy was no different than anyone else. He obviously had problems that are shared by many. He made at least one very bad choice. He wound up dead. Horrible story, but again.........happens every day.

Sad.

At least he got the joy of having a sex scene with Jake Gyllenhaal before he died...

This is remarkably depressing.

Yep, nothing conclusive..........yet.........in terms of a drug overdose...........though I cannot imagine what one would use a rolled up bill for, if not for illicit drug use. Was he snorting prescription antihistamines?

Regardless of the actual cause of death, my viewpoint remains the same. Far more sad deaths occur everyday. You hear of very few of them. A fringe celebrity dies, and they stop the presses.

Rolled up bill? Where did you read that? Only thing I've read is sleeping pills?

Six different prescription drugs for a healthy 28 year old is highly suspicious, as well.
I saw the blurb about lab tests finding nothing on the bill, but again.......who is in the practice of rolling up bills? For what other reason might one be doing this? Obviously, much has yet to be determined, but there is a LOT of "smoke" here.

Ledger was a fine, young actor.
But a lot of fine young men die every day.
Report it, yes.
Dramatize it, no.

May he rest in peace.
God bless his soul.

How about that religious group that is going to protest his funeral because he played a gay cowboy in a movie. Then again, this is the same group that protests American soldiers funerals and says our country deserves this because of our immoral ways.

Funny, if our country is so bad, why do they still live here? :-k

Because the media eats up whatever those idiots do - they get all the attention they want, so they keep doing it. If the media wouldn't keep announcing these "God Hates F**s" idiots' propoganda filled press releases, nobody would know anything about what they're doing except for the Patriot Guard Riders who block them at military funerals.
