Faribault's Alex Larson was seriously injured in this evening's Faribault vs. Winona game. This thread is to give everyone who loves the game the opportunity to take a moment and wish Alex and his family all the best.

Besh Wishes to Alex and his family...I have seen friends and teammates badly hurt playing our great sport. It's never easy but I'm sure this young man will fight hard and be ok. Get well soon Alex.

Any further information on the matter?

No. I think that he was life-flighted to Rochester, but don't know that first-hand. I was at the game, but didn't see exactly what happened. I know that he took a puck, possibly to the chest, then collapsed enroute to the bench. That's all I can say for sure.

From the sounds of it Mr. Larson is a good all around kid that plays the game right. He scores and still isn't afraid to block a shot for his team at the end of a game. All be it bad that it happened this can bring the team closer. Get well soon Mr. Larson and know that all involved in high school hockey have you in their thoughts.

This is yet another reminder that it's still just a game, and more important things are going on out there. Best wishes to the Larson's and may Alex have a full and speedy recovery.

Things are looking much better here today. The doctors are comfortable with his progress. His heart had some minor bruising, but there should be no long term damage to his heart or any other internal organs. He is sitting up in a chair now but still very groggy from the medications they are giving him. He will remain in the intensive care unit at least until tomorrow, so visitation is very limited. If he continues to improve, he may even get to come home tomorrow sometime.

Dana and I cannot express our gratitude for all of your prayers, concern and good wishes. Hockey is really creates another family and you are all very special to us.
