Doesn't mean squat if the team doesn't learn to show up in big games. The team two years ago had as good if not better stats and that earned a 4th place finish. Flip better learn to be a big game goalie real dang soon or it will just be a repeat of the last two years...

Too bad Austin couldn't fit the Peoneers in on their schedule this year.

If just getting out of the 2nd weakest section in the State is a goal.....then so be it

4AA is not the second weakest section. It is obviously stronger than 1AA, and is no worse 3AA, 5AA, or even 8AA (2 good teams, the rest average). 4AA is year-in and year-out one of the tougher sections to get out of.

dont get me wrong, Hill is a pretty good team, but those states dont mean anything. They have a pathetically easy schedule which severely inflates those stats. The only thing easier than their schedule is their section. At state they should get a real team to play against and they will flop because they season didnt prepare them.

I heard they tried really hard to schedule Austin this year.

Sparlimb the Wise knows his stuff.
He knows that if ANY Hill player is concerned about stats they are doomed.
Without Flips best, they probably still will make it to St. Paul.
Without Flips best, you can hang another "appearance" banner.

I have not been keeping up with this site entirely lately, so can someone confirm that HM senior forward Andy Singerhouse committed to UND? Or is that just a rumor?

Hill tried to get Austin, but wound up with the Spuds instead...basically, no difference. We can't choose what section we are in, but if we could, we would love to be in 7AA given what we did to East earlier. Will they really be the top seed there?? Please MSHSL league put us there.

That list is just a Wisconsin Players to Watch List. He is not commited anywhere yet. The coach from Princeton was at last nights game scouting Andy.

According to PS2
RANK SECTION AVG RANK
1 4AA 17.73
2 5AA 17.52
3 7AA 17.38
4 6AA 17.27
5 3AA 17.09
6 2AA 16.65
7 8AA 15.23
8 1AA 15.03
Schedule is almost emberassingly easy but calling there section easy kind of makes me laugh. Anytime White Bear and Hill have to play its never easy.
Go Hill

Hunter, those are impressive. That said, if you don't recognize that the schedule they face is pretty weak you are blind. Or stupid.
Wayzata has played the toughest schedule, but they LOST all their games.
How did Hill do against good teams like Minnetonka?
I think Hill-Murray is one of the state's Top 5 teams. I wouldn't be alarmed if they won state. However, their stats are padded by ringing up 10 goals against teams like North and Sibley. OF COURSE their numbers look good.
I'm sure the kids at Edina didn't know what to do when they got to play Cretin. 9-0 stands out like a sore thumb on their schedule. When Hill beats someone like they stole something all anyone can say is, "another."
laughable

The fact is that Hill-Murray has played the state's 27th most difficult schedule. For a perennial power, this is hardly killing it. What's the goal at Hill? Run up scoring records or beat quality opponents? Let us know how the next NSP game goes.

We've had this argument enough. Hill is in the right conference for every other sport. They can't help that their hockey team is on another level then the rest of the teams or that their conference is generally weak in hockey other then the top 3 teams. Hill plays as hard a non-conference schedule as anyone, so you can't really bash them. That's all they can do. Truth is this conference provides a bigger challenge then the St. Paul City Conference did during the 80's. You want to see some amazing numbers, look at those games...
