Chaska---2-1....strong penalty kill will be able to shut down the PP of Tonka...

by hockeystud2
yeah that means that chaska would have to have a good team to shut them down and a good power play

what's wrong with Chaska and their coach?

They have talent but they don’t us it as a team. This is a team sport not one vs. the other team you need every one playing together to win a game and I heard he skates them all the time he should work on other thing right now because if there not in shape right now what is that going to do you skate them the 1st 2 months and then it is working on stuff because your wasting you time skating them in to the ground.

hockeystud2 sounds like a parent that is not happy about playing time for their daughter or feels they are 1st line material.

They really lost an excellent coaching staff when Andy Brink and Bob went to the boys side this season, it really hurt the girls. THAT was a good coaching staff! They have had 3 coaching changes in 4 years, not good for any team.

They have a pile of talent, and the JR/SO/FR class has some D1 material for sure!

Bigred- they coaching staff from this year is better then last year look at the record I just think they need to focus on the little things like passing shooting scoring break out and power play that’s the only way they will beat Tonka that game is going to come down to how can be smarter. The game is going to be who can capitalize on special teams. Chaska coach has 2 state tournaments he now what it take to get there.

I'm picking Chaska in a minor upset. Some of these girls have played soccer for me. Two of them have a competitive spirit that will be taken up a notch. I have rarely seen many players that will battle for every inch on the ice every moment of the game. If they can incorporate their teammates and help make them better, Tonka will have a game on their hands.

The young talent on the team is very apparent and will continue to emerge. Nice young forward with a bright future ahead of her. You also have one starting D that has 3 years experience and is still only a sophomore. She is a highly skilled, two way player that anchors the D.
It's on the girls now to play as a team at this point.

The goaltending has improved over last year. If you can get this youngster not to worry about the game and just go out, have fun, and see how many shots she can stop; Chaska will take this one.

As the new season starts, Chaska wins 4-3 in OT

Tomass, as an EP Fan I hope you are right. Minnetonka scares me, but Chaska seems to match up with us much better... for whatever reason. That is of course assumes we get past Jefferson. Look what the Giants did to the Pats last Sunday!

I think the problem with Chaska concerning EP is that they take the game too personal and let their emotions supersede and negatively impact their skills and hockey IQ. That, and EP has had better talent over the past years.

OK...lets see if the following girls do play D1 from CHS...

JRS Sam and Tam Meuweissen
Sophs Catie Ladner and Dani Williams
Freshman Leah Johnson

I bet they all make it! I don't know anything about D1, but I bet my predictions are accurate here. Only time will tell.

Dani Williams is the only one that may have a SLIGHT chance , only because of her size! If you think they have 5 D1 players on CHS your crazy!! Abe is right!

I can tell you for a FACT that 2 of those 4 players are already recieving letters from colleges as underclassmen. So you should probably consider re-evaluating your D1 thoughts because you are wrong.

Receiving a letter and getting an offer are two different things. Ask anyone who has been through the process, I'm with gopher9 and Abe. Williams and possibly Ladner. No one else on that team will be playing D1!!!

I agree with BCGHockey, gopher9 and Abe. Chaska does have a very talented team, they just need to work together more. I think the person on that team to most likely go D1 is Dani Williams. She has the speed and strength to make it far. Catie Ladner is also a very good sophmore. Those two girls are definantly the leaders of the team.
