I am going out on the limb here. I believe that the hottest team - outside of the top two (begin with the letter E) is Minnetonka.

The team seems to be getting better with each game. It will be fun to see how they fare. I believe they will make it to state.

I agree SOBB. I've seen them in the Midwest Regional and against Edina at Braemar. Fast, tenacious, and they have a coach who knows how to win games.

I also agree. They are an impressive team that has played right with the top teams in the state ( EP twice, Edina, Wayzata). Not to mention they have the district tournament right on their home ice.

Did you seriously mention home ice advantage in Bantam A. Home ice advantage does not remotely exist until you get to the varsity level. Also, Pagel isn't a tough place to play, what is so different about it?

Our team (Jefferson) played both Tonka and Burnsville. Burnsville is much tougher in my view. I hope we play Tonka and not Burnsville. Saw Tonka get smoked by Edina once and they never did beat either Edina or EP. My bet is that us or Burnsville is #3 in D6 and not Tonka.

Tposhelf, I have to disagree. Minnetonka may have lost to your team and Burnsville early in the season but they beat your team twice one 3-0 and dominated Burnsville 4-0 in St. Cloud. I also think they have a good shot at regions but that is just my opinion and you are entitled yours.

Be careful what you wish for, Tonka took EP to OT both games they played, they are more than capable of playing with the big boys.

Do you guys think that Edina deserves the right to be in regions?

Edina is strong enough and should be in regions. In fact, they are going as the #3 seed from D6

Who was in the district 6 championship game and who won it?

After being down 0-3 early in the first, EP rallied to beat Burnsville 4-3, scoring the game winner with under 1:00 remaining.

Do you guys think that # 9 on Burnsville is good?

did i see that Edina advanced over Apple Valley because they were tied after the 3OT...because they are a higher seed???

Apple Valley is the team that loses here. District 6 needs to take a long look a this rule. Had the game gone to another OT, who knows what would have happened. It would be interesting how well this rule would sit with the Edina folks had the roles been reversed.

yes this role is ridicilous...you have got to play until someone scores..Apple Valley being the heavy underdog plays their hearts out and their season ends because they tie Edina

Yes, that is a dumb rule!

yeah cuz that would of been great for Apple Valley if they would of played longer and pulled off the upset

I totally agree...I'm fine with using that rule in the winner's bracket, where the higher seed advances and the lower seed is sent down to the loser's bracket to try and fight their way back, but no team should have their season end like this. Let the kids play the game out or do a shoot-out after 3-4 overtimes. It's really hard for kids to grasp the fact that even though they tied their season is over.

not buying it

Then I blame the coach. He should have told them before it started that they needed to win to advace, or at the very least before the 2nd or 3rd overtime.

The kids from Apple Valley probably knew they were 6th place in league or whatever. This shouldn't come as a surprise.

When basketball or hockey teams play in pool play at a tournament they can have their fortunes affected by goal differential. Any decent coach is aware of where they stand.

The kids knew the situation and the goalie was pulled for the last 1:50 of the final overtime, they just couldn't put one in.

I'm not arguing against what happened I just think it's a stupid rule. The higher seeds got the benefit of playing a lower seed in the opening round, why should they get another benefit on top of that, especially after they've already lost a game and are fighting their way through the losers' bracket.
