Hill-Murray vs. St. Thomas Academy Round II (FSN 1:00 PM)

Round two comes up here in a few days and this should be a good one. H-M is looking for a boost in their game after a surprising tie with South St. Paul last week. Although H-M suffered the tie, both teams still have only one loss in conference play. The winner likely will take home the 2007-2008 Classic Suburban Championship given no other "upsets" occur. By the way for those who want to catch the game, it will be held at the Xcel Energy Center and on FSN for those who are not able to commute.

Thoughts, predictions?

I'll take the Pioneers in a nail-biter, 3-1.

Why is this game being played at the X? Was this a venue change or originally scheduled for the X? Who's home team?

H-M is the home team. It was moved to the Xcel Center as part of the hockey day Minnesota coverage. Should be a close contest with both teams having something to prove going into sections. No final score will really surprise me...

Hill should feel more at home downtown than anyone, though the Pioneers rarely get the home crowd advantage there.

We have color, but I turn up the green.

Hey Bader, PioneerPrideGuy wants to know:

Which high school's theatre company featured BIAFP as the lion from the Wizard of Oz?

Since BIAFP never will answer truthfully, let's get back to the Pioneers.

Why did they schedule two private schools against eachother for this game? I'd rather see a private school vs a public school. I think that would draw more of a crowd and we could hear the "public school" chant. I think by having two private schools playing this game, you are limiting the amount of people that care about this game.

These are two good teams that should be skating in march, but a Hill vs. Edina or STA vs. Roseau has more appeal to me than STA vs. Hill.

Its a conference game. They can't just set up unscheduled games in the middle of the season.

I remember the Hill/Edina final in 1988 that had two thirds of the civic center booing constantly the whole game. Talk about a tough crowd...

You sure it wasn't the entire crowd?

Tyler Zepeda suffered an injury and will not be able to play in this game. The team is moving Jeff Westerhaus to 2nd line and the 1st line will be Furne, Cecka, and Kohls. Im still taking Hill-Murray in this one though, they will more focused for this game.

How bad is the injury & how long will he be out? Tough task without a full squad...should be interesting.

Well, I'm guessing this night has been planned for some time. They could easily schedule a nonconference game for this match.
