the first meeting between these two was very well played. its in virginia so i think blue devils may have a little advantahe there. but virginia did win at the memorial building so its goingto be a great contest. hibbing is playing pretty well as of late. HOpefully DeCenzo can stay hot.
Jackets 4
Blue Devils 2

one day before this game. hibbing wins theyll most likely end up with the 3 seed. virginia wins then who knows?

Both teams need to win this game to get the 3 seed. Hibbing's won 2 straight Virginia's lost 2 straight. Hibbing and Decenzo stay hot. But you know playing in Virginia your going to get screwed so Hibbing needs to play through that.
Jackets-3
Devils-2

Officials for Iron Range Conference games are assigned by the conference, not by the home school. There won't be any "homer" calls in this game. On the same note, however, I do know who has been assigned to the game, and I can almost guarantee they become a factor one way or another. Lets hope not, but these guys have a history...
The winner of this one will get the #3 seed and will likely host Two Harbors in the quarterfinals and be on the International Falls side of the bracket.
The loser will host Greenway and be on the Marshall side of the bracket.
If Hibbing wins, they will gain a 2nd place tie with Grand Rapids in the IRC. If Virginia wins, Virginia and Hibbing will finish in a 3rd place tie. A tie gives Hibbing 3rd and Virginia 4th.
Not a whole lot on the line with this one as in year's past, but it has become quite a heated rivalry over the past five years. Both teams will want the "W" heading into the playoffs. I expect to see another low scoring, one goal game in this one.
An interesting note: Matt Dye scored both goals for Hibbing in the prior matchup over in Hibbing - and he will not be playing, along with Logan Klobuchar due to the aforementioned rules violation. Virginia will have three players in the lineup that were out with injuries during the prior meeting in Sean Podpeskar, Troy Grivette, and Tony Buccanero.

Just wondering who the officials are goin to be for this one. Can you shed any light on this one PuckRanger. Hopefully its not the two bigger gentlemen w/ the Adolf Hitler mustache. Not sure on what their names are, can anyone help me on that one.
Thanks

I really prefer not to call anyone out by name. As much as I would like to see another set of officials doing this game, it is still a thankless job and there really isn't much of a pool to pick from for officials up here (obviously). In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have brought it up at all...

So who are they going to be? Or is it going to be a big surprise?

Well last time I picked Hibbing to win and Virgina wins.
Now Virgina gets beat by Princeton

and I can't figure this out.
So what the heck I'll take Hibbing again, they gotta beat the team that got beat by the 5th place team in the mighty Mississippi 8 Conf.
Don't they?

I'd like to say Hibbing in this one, but they haven't really been able to win a big game this year. I think Virginia will manage to shutdown Hibbing's first line, and that will be the key to this game.
Hibbing 2
Virginia 4

Hibbing Was the first team to beat I Falls on American soil. I'm going to say:
Hibbing - 4
Virginia - 1

Very Big Win for Hibbing, Sandstrom Played Stellar in the nets, Bad Reffing for Both sides, if Hibbing Can ride this Momentum, they can be the 7A reps at State.

and another thing, Virginia's Student Section is Pathetic, Their were Maybe 25 Hibbing Students at the game and they out Cheered the Home Team.

big win for the jackets tongiht. kind of a sloppy game but they pulled it out. sandstrom played well and hibbing played very well defensely. Virginia got out played the entire game

Virginia is not that good of a team. Hibbing skated around them and dominated the play. Virginia is not going to be a threat come 7A playoff time. Good game for Hibbing they need to ride this momentum through the playoffs,

I'd say they are still a threat, anybody is a threat in the playoffs. If they play like they did last night, by the sounds of it they won't be getting too far.

im looking for Greenway to pull the upset over Virginia. it may just happen. im guessing the other top three seeds will move on into the semis fairly easy. but ya never do know?
