I wouldn't call that a sick goal. What's so sick about it?

Looks like a freaking hot dog to me. Why would he enter the zone to then leave the zone just to make a big circle in the neutral zone to say, "look at me, I'm playing a pathetic team" finally go back in and walk around a cone for a defensemen.

I've never seen Ness play, but after watching this one play, he seems pretty selfish to me.

This kid is in no way selfish. He has great vision and moves the puck extremely well. He entered the zone then left it - to rag time as his team was killing a penalty. Get a clue :x

You have to be impressed with the puck movement.........

He should have passed it at least 3 times.

Great hockey.

Why would he do that? Pretty simple answer. He was killing time off of an opponent's power play. When you are the best player on the ice and the opponent is incapable of taking the puck away from you, why not rag it around and kill more time off of their power play? Hell, one of the greatest players ever (Bobby Orr) used to do that all the time back in his day.

you are way way off base. if you look roseau is short handed and he caught everyone standing flat footed.

You sure he had any teammates to pass to?

Maybe if he wasn't running into them.

I'm sure he is not selfish, and he has heckuva good set of skills, but even if he was ragging the puck to kill the penalty; seemed to me with 4 opponents in their own zone, while on a power play there might be other options. But he scored a goal \:D/

Seemed to me his teammates did not have an idea of what he was going to do next a few times. To me that is telling. Opponents not having a clue what you are going to do is great. Teammates looking confused worries me.

I counted at LEAST four opportunites for Tech to knock Roseau off that puck, but they chose to pokecheck instead. Ness looked very good, but Tech just looked terrible.

I have to agree with you tomASS, he killed a whole four seconds by circling out and back in. If he were truly trying to kill the clock he would have done some things differently that actually took some time off the clock. He was trying to set up an offensive rush, not kill the clock when he circled back out of the zone. Still, it did showcase a good set of skills. 8)

Thats one of those plays that a coach starts saying to himself "What the heck is he doing... oh, wait... he scored... nevermind". :)

Definitely not youth hockey training material.

Why pass the puck when nobody can take it away from you?

You must be a youth hockey coach.

Seeing that the guy that passed it to him got his legs kicked out and was laying face down, that wouldn't be real bright

Well first of all Hockeyfan1 your critiques of my posts are very valuable feedback I am sure not only me but other bored members are very interested in wht you think of my posts.

You asked me to explain to you why he should have passed it. If you really need to ask, its going to be difficult to explain but hockey has been described by some as a team game.

He should have passed the puck for the same reason his team mate passed the puck to him. To keep the puck away from Tech.

If some Tech player gets lucky and knocks the puck off of his stick or the puck hits a crack in the ice, they will lose the puck.

If he feeds it back to his D and they back to him , it kills way more time and actually looks like hockey.

But I guess because he scored a goal its all OK.

Given how complimentary a few of his teammates (and the head coach) were after the game when talking about the play, I don't think they were too upset about it.

Pretty funny that a kid with a great all around game is getting criticized. I guess those 36 assists of his says he doesn't like to pass the puck much.
