I wonder why FSN wouldn't televise one of the better girls section games in the schedule? Hopefully they will at least bless us with some scoring updates... :x

Anyway, it's a great event:

9:00 AM: Hockey Day Minnesota
10:00 AM: High-School Hockey: Eveleth at Lake of the Woods
12:00 PM: Hockey Day Minnesota
1:00 PM: High-School Hockey: Hill Murray vs. St. Thomas Academy
3:00 PM: High-School Hockey: Blaine vs. Roseau
4:00 PM: Hockey Day Minnesota
5:00 PM: Islanders at Wild
8:00 PM: Minnesota at Denver

Thought it would be great to see a HS girls game, too.

They did interview Natalie Darwitz and she did plug Eagan's game versus Burnsville today. She is assistant coach with her Dad there. Marney (sp?) said they would be bringing score updates.

Hope they will consider a girls game next year!

GREAT PICTURE!!!!!

Don't worry, girls hockey is still growing. It's becoming more common.

The problem with Hockey Day in MN is it takes place the 1st weekend in Feb. The boys are in regular season play & the girls are in Section Play..Hard to schedule a girls outdoor game for sections when you have no idea of who's playing who..Maybe MN hockey & FSN can move the dates up a bit & include a girls game or at least a period or two. IHO there is no better promotion for the game of hockey in the US than televising an outdoor event, Pro's, College, HS Boy's & Girls...My only other suggestion would to drill a hole in each penalty box & allow the player to at least fish for 2 min! If a walleye in the slot limit is caught the player can be released early...

Good comment on the hole but why does the girls game have to be outside? The Cadets and HM played inside in the warm and cozy X. All they had to do was pick a Section game to broadcast.

There are lots of options, however the I believe the outdoor element brings in more than the average "Hockey" fan...FSN could run the outdoor MPLS/St.Paul game?...FSN did a nice job with the Grnd Rpds/Blaine holiday tourney game..too bad it was tape delayed & played at 10:30 PM on a week night..Girls hockey is young, someday we'll get there...
