I liked the Canes of 2006. They may be slightly on the downslope in 2008. All the veterans are 2 years more banged up and already have a Stanley Cup. They still have a solid core group (Stillman, Cole, Whitney, Brindamore, Hedican etc.), but sometimes they look a little stiff against some of the younger more hungry teams.

Just saw that Carolina and Ottawa have finished a trade. Cory Stillman and Matt Commodore go to Ottawa for Patrick Eaves(Fairbault MN) and JOe Corvo

Looks like Ottawa is gearing up for a deeper playoff run. Not sure if Eaves and Corvo will have the same impact for the Canes. Interesting trade... all good players.

yeah your right. Corvo is a prety good defensemen and eaves is talented and young. Hopefully it works out for the Canes.

well eric staal just happens to be my favorite player. he is a solid young player with a world of opportunities in front of him. He is one of the leaders on this years canes team and is only 4 years in to his career. he is a great player and for some reason a lot of people dislike him. i dont know why i guess everyone has there opinions.

Rod Brind'Amour is out for the season. Looks like the Canes are getting ready tp throw in the towel. Better luck next year.
