How often?

How often to two teams from the same confrence make it to the tourney? I was just thinking about the fact that if Anoka can make it through the DECC, they will be accompanying another NWSC team to the Ex. Unless of course Irondale or Rogers can sneak out of section 5AA.

silly question. Teams from the Lake and Classic lake frequent have more than one team in the tourney. Two years ago the Lake even had 3 teams in it.

Oh very funny!!!

However, Rogers did beat CP last year in sections

................ at Champlin
It looks like CP will get the #2 spot which would bring the 2 teams together again, as it's highly unlikely that Rogers will be anything but the 7 seed.
So as I understand that if that were to happen the game would be played at Andover, Correct?

Yes. The champlin game will be held at Andover to ensure no home town advantage. Funny it was never a problem before.

Here is a possibility even more of an eye-opener; Duluth has a chance to put
three teams in the State Tournament, which would be a first. O-town should crunch us some odds of that happening. I'd say the chances are about 30%.

Two teams have made it from the Lake Superior Conference (in different classes) in 1994, 96, 97, 98, 2006 & 2007. I might have missed one.
Another question; have two teams from the same conference ever appeared in a State final? Once again, the Lake Superior Conference did this last year in Class A (Hermantown & Duluth Marshall).

I am trying hard to remember (but failing) to think of whether Park Center was in the Twin Cities Suburban conference in 1993. They put two teams in several times, but if Park Center was in, which I'm think they were, that conference put 3 teams (Hill-Murray, Elk River and Park Center) in the state field. But you really would need a conference that spans the cities as that one did to ever see that happen again. Counting the class A tourney, it has probably been done a few more times by other conferences...

Mostly the same team isn't it?

Pretty big difference in a team with 10 regular season wins over bottom feeders (one memorable win over the OK at best Maple Grove team of last year) and this years 16 regular season wins (sweeping blaine.) So no, there is no comparisson.

What I meant was same players for the most part...correct?
I'll agree that the CP team has had an unexpected and yet impressive season.
They have a good shot!

Lake Conference is in 3 different sections, so they have 3 chances of sending a team there now

This year the Lake could potentially send 4 to the tourney.
1AA- Lakeville teams
2AA- Jefferson, Burnsville, and Kennedy(no real chance)
3AA- Eastview, Eagan, Apple Valley, and Rosemount
6AA- Eden Prairie and Chaska

You are correct, CP does have many returners in their 12 seniors. So in that sense the team is similar. But some of this years juniors have stepped up to the bag quite a bit. Ben Blaeser has been a big reason to CP sucess with his pk and some crucial goals. Not to mention Grandner, Herzog, and Meyers with Jaeger in the nets.
