It has been reported on the Edina team site that they lost 1-0 to Eden Prairie. Must have been a great game and a wonderful effort from the Prairie kids to keep Edina off the board.

Great back and forth game. Edina was amazing on the penalty-kill. Phenomenal effort by the EP goaltender to get the shutout and a great, hard top shelf snipe by EP for the only goal. Very entertaining and solid game by both teams.

Getting ahead start on how to stop the "amazing" Edina Squirts who will be bantams in a few shorts years?

A couple games ago the average Edina score was 9-1. This has me wondering how Eden Prairie has done this year. Anyone know!?

With respect to the Edina fans. Is it me? Or has Eden Prairie taken it to Edina youth hockey this year?
It seem to me that I keep hearing Edina, Edina and Edina. But when I look at the scores. It seems like EP has done well against Edina this year.

I guess the telling tale will be how the teams finish in districts and state.

Not to mention that the EP boys team is solid. (not sure if they've played Edina?) I think Edina just lost to Minnetonka. The high school playoffs are going to be great.

The EP girls team just knocked out Edina to make its way to state.

EP has won 11 in a row and is heating up just in time for Fargo. They squeaked one out against Chaska only beating them 5-4 and that was a wake up call. Now they are playing their best hockey of the year and could win fargo.

While Edina has a good team, enough of hearing that they are the greatest ever. They are not. EP was even playing wihtout some of their players that were out.

They were missing a center that has a great shot and would have made a positive contribution if he would of been there.

O-town. I talked to a couple of parents last night at this game and they told me that EP has lost to Lakeville South 1st game of the year and then to Jefferson before X-mas. They have like 2 loses on the season and won like 18 or 19 games and 11 in a row. I thought it was a great game with alot of good talent on the ice. It will be fun watching these kids as they move up the ranks. And yes EP was missing one of their top players that is a first year skater.
Is Edina vs. Eden Prairie one of the metro's and state's best rivilaries in the sports going?

Eden Prairie's Bantams have been the state's top team. Edina's Pee Wees are at least as good as Eden Prairie, maybe better. The Edina Squirts were thought by some to be unbeatable but now we have seen it happen.

Girls HS has E.P. as the top team and in boys Edina put a hurt to E.P. at Christmas.

A good rivalry for sure.

EP and Edina have both beaten Wayzeta, so I don't know how you would put them at the level of those teams.

I just heard an account from an Eden Prairie parent that shots were 34-6 in favor of Edina. Can anyone confirm? Unreal goaltending.

A rematch in Fargo seems in order.

I was at the game and the shots were pretty one sided, but i didnt know it was like that. The EP golie was absolutly fantastic, and EP's goal was one of the best squirt shots ive ever seen. The bracket works out that if EP can beat Wayzeta in the quarter-finals, then the two teams would most likely meet in the championship. That would be a great game with a great rivalry. Good luck to both teams. :P

Love2skate- I'm sure that Wayzata does have a good program. I don't doubt that.
Lets see where all the pieces fall into place at the State tourney. We should be able to get an idea which program has better teams right now.

Lets not forget that there are many strong associations within the State of Hockey. These three are only a few.

Boogy, where do you rank the out state assocations? do you think this will all play out at the state tourneys? do you think Edina and eden prarie are two of the best in the state or just in the metro? any thoughts?

Actually, if EP beats Wayzeta in the quarters- they will most likely meet the home team in the semis- the Flyers have a decent team this year.

Congrats to EP for their 1-0 win- BUT getting out-shot by a 6:1 margin?!? Without seeing the game, it kinda sounds like they may have stolen one.

Hnut61- I agree! If they were outshot that bad. The odds aren't with them. A good goalie will only carry a team so far. I'm not sure if the shots on goal were that bad?
Like I said. Either way they both have strong teams. I guess this is the reason they play the games.

Good luck to both teams.

I saw this game and the shots from what I was told where 21-10 Edina. I would like to see these two teams play again. I also think if EP was missing one of their top players and won, will they win with that player back and if they run the same game plan at Edina again? I don't think these are two of your normal Squirt A teams in Minnesota, they are both a step above all others and Edina is even a step a head of EP, but I was also told these two associations A teams don't have parent coaches on them, is there something to be said about that.
