KEYS FOR AV
1. Take many shots, even if they are not high percentage.
2. Get ugly goals, thats how teams beat EV.
3. Don't give up odd man rushes, they are fast.
4. Solid goaltending.

KEYS FOR EV
1. Don't take stupid penalties, some games they take alot.
2. Clear the puck when it's sitting in front.
3. Smart passes, sometimes they get careless with the puck.
4. Try and get more production from others besides line 1.

I'm sure thre are more, some of the main ones I thought of though.[/b]

I love the fact that these two teams are playing and here are my reasons for that:
1)In a sense it's a home game for both teams
2)It's already i big rivalry game
3)It's playoff time and what the teams record a week ago no longer matters

Of course there records matter! If AV had a better record than Eastview a week ago then they would get to wear white in this game!! :D

I actually like apple valley's chances in this one. they have lost both times in the regular season to eastview but it is extremely hard to beat a team three times. Apple Valley has also been playing their best hockey of the year in the last 2 weeks of the season. I think if apple valley comes out and plays their game they can win but they HAVE to stay out of the box. AV has better goaltending than eastview, they are going to need some big saves from their goaltender because eastview deffinately has a better offense and they are much faster than AV. AV has to hit like they have been lately and they will be fine and they need to go to the net hard and get some dirty goals. This will be a battle but im going with AV in this one.

AV 4
EV 2

Who will be in goal for Eastview? Have they picked a guy they will go with for the rest of the year?

eastview in a blow-out (this rivalry is starting to look like the modern Jefferson-Kennedy where the rich kids blow em out every game. C'mon VALLEY!!)

Parrish - Apple Valley has had a down year, but the blowouts are about to turn in their favor. AV crushed Eastview at both the Bantam and Peewee levels this year (not sure about the squirts) so they'd better enjoy these victories while they can.

Both teams are in question for who will start on Thursday whne you think about it.

AV- Gretz or Hersch
EV- O'Shea or Krob

RFFalcon you are right thouhg this rivalry is about to take a quick turn for a few years to AV. But for now this is what we got and hopefully it's a good game on Thursday.

EV 7 AV 3

In goal for EV, my guess would be O shea. Hes been playin well lately for them. In the past 4 games EV has had scoring from all lines. Should be a fun, and intense game.

I'm not sure who you will see in the first meeting Hersch gave up 7 goals the second one the JV goalie Nanne played and let in 6. I would think Gretz would get his shot at them considering he didn't have a terrible year. I think it could come down to who the coaches feel had the better days of practice on Mon and Tues and who they think will be more prepared.

You will indeed.

What do you think about the Eastview defenders? Budweg, Finehage, and Peters don't seem to be helping the team much besides some bad penalties they are taking, ex. Finehage has 76 PIM according to pointstreak (that is missing one game on the totals) and careless with the puck, ex. peters clearing up the middle in OT against Jefferson. Budweg just does not seem very skilled and the others you don't see much of out on the ice besides Gorski who seems to be the best for them with 8 PIM only and leading the D men with 15 points. You see them more then me, what have you thought?

AV seems to think this is the hardest team they could possibly face in the section, and that they dont match up well.

BUT! AV is a whole different Animal in sections. We see this year in and year out. Hayes will have his boys ready for this one, after losing twice. 3-2 Valley continues their winning streak.

I think you are on the right track here... Fienhage and Peters have been in a slump you can say as it seems like throughout the whole season. Their physical presence is what makes them helpful now, but they haven't been making the smartest decisions lately.-but that can change in sections. Nick Gorski is by far their best defender overall wise RIGHT NOW. Im not saying the he is overall better than Fienhage, because hes not, but right now he is playing the best hockey I have seen as well as the smartest hockey. Overall, this is a talented group of defenders who will get it together in time for sections, and hopefully they can make something happen. It will be interesting to see how they get prepared for it with this being the first time without Gibbons.
