Why the negative comments? This team is all about further developing strong player into stronger players AND HAVING FUN DOING IT!

This team is beginning its 3rd year as the 97 North Fire with the same coaches and some of the same players. This team has been very competitive against other 97 AAA teams.Unlike the WI Fire, it is is not a year round team nor a team that you will spend thousands of dollars to play on. The majority of the players live in the northern sububurbs and ARE allowed to play other sports.

I sense that you are quite bitter about the cost. FYI, there are alot of costs that are incurred putting on a tournament. Is there a profit, yes, but unlike other organizations, it is NOT going into anyones pocket. All profits will stay with this team for further developement. It helps keep this sport affordable to those that want to play. Unlike other AAA teams, we do not have PAID coaches. They are highly accredited coachs that do this for the love of it, not to line their pockets. I don't think there are many AAA teams out there that the cost to play is less than association hockey.

Like O-Town said, why would you choose a name that is already used by a real Tier 1 AAA program? It only creates confusion for families.

By the way, The Fire Hockey Club (Somerset, WI) doesn't play together year 'round.

Out of curiosity, who has this program been "very competitive" with over the past three years? I guess I don't recall them in any tournaments.

This team was started under the WI Fire tier 1 AAA when they formed the 97's. The first year, they had 2 - 97 teams, a North and a South. The 97 North Fire operates independently.

In 2006 and 2007, they took 2nd place in the USA International AAA hockey Cup. With so many AAA tournaments all over Minnesota, and new teams forming every year, there are many I haven't heard of either but look forward to playing against them. What team are you from Crossover?
