Fargo Squirt Tournament This Past Weekend

A few thoughts from a parent of the Carolina Junior Hurricanes.

First of all WE HAD THE BEST TIME !!!! Met the nicest people on the planet and played some great competition and we also WON the "A" bracket 3 championship!!!!! The players the coaches the parents and everyone we met were top notch.

You all were great, clean and respectful competitors.

And we certainly belonged in this tournament ( I say this because of a couple of comments I read on a previous posting). The 2 games we lost were close (the 3 goal blown lead in the 3rd period was a killer) But again WE BELONGED HERE and proved it on the ice. All of the kids we played against were good clean players who treated our boys with respect.

This tournament was everything we had hoped it would be and it also showcased the fine people of the Fargo/Moorhead area.

Our boys will have memories forever because of the great hockey culture you folks have developed and the way you have raised your hockey players to be good respectful team oriented players. I have traveled quite a bit with my boys through years of travel hockey and I have to say this was the nicest group of players/parents/tournament officials I have come across.

Your airport was a different story :(

You have a great place to call home.

Wow, Just trying to say a few nice words..........

I certainly am not going to publish my name and number to prove anything.

Take it for what you will. Desperate, no I don't think so. With so many critics in the world i figured it would be nice to post a positive experience. But I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

I guess their is one in every crowd.

5th graders....lighten up!!! our team was there once. I agree with everything the original poster wrote. IT IS A GREAT SQUIRT TOURNAMENT!!! They do a good job with their brackets, too, so that everyone ends up in group one, two or three based on results and ability.

Congrats to all the teams that were in the tournament. It is really hard to get into it. Many teams are left home because of the demand.

5th Graders,

Once again, you are way out of line. However, if you are in 5th grade (based upon your elementary-aged level posts), we all understand. :D

The Fargo tourney was good overall as there is no where else you are going to find 90 teams at one age -- pretty fun and exciting for the kids.

But, they do have to dump the Sunmart arena. There is no way that is a regulation sized rink.

Yes I agree that the Sunmart arena is:

1) Old
2) Small
3) Cold

But when they turn those heaters on, right in your face, you can actually get a jump start on your tan!! :D

Don't let someone who uses the last grade level he completed as his username get you down. Your comments are appreciated by the hundreds of volunteers who donate many hours to make this a memorable event. Congrats to your boys for winning their bracket...
Well, I'd better get back to self promoting the tournament, rumor has it they are expanding to 100 teams next year when the new areana opens.
