Seeding went 8 for 8 this year between the two classes

Sure interesting to see versus the 3 seeded teams in AA that lost last year. This is the reason for seeding the top 4. Now you get what the coaches considered the best of the best in the semi-finals and again on Saturday. Hopefully the games tomorrow won't be such snoozers.

The seeds won but were they right?

Mankato West was awfully good Wednesday and lost, they'd have probably beaten Warroad and SCC.

Benilde was awfully bad and won, I don't think the'd have beaten Blaine, South, or Cloquet.

In 2 years the only posive I've seen from seeding is Edina and Roseau are on opposite sides of the bracket. (I believe given the old rotation system they would have been anyway this year)

Maybe seeding the top 2 teams would be better than top 4. That way you are only dictating the top 2 and random the other 6. Isn't it about getting the two best teams to the finals.

Seeding top 4 in AA

Seeding the top 4 teams worked this year. They goal was to give the top 4 teams the best chance to advance to the semi's.
The down side, outside of a poorly played game #2, the rest of the first round games were snooze fests.
Hopefully we are rewarded for sitting through yesterday with some great hockey tonight.

I think this seeding process will make the Thursday session decrease in attendance because the games will be lopsided for the most part. In years past, you would usually have a Roseau vs. Edina game that people really wanted to see and created a buzz on day 1. I think the seeding eliminates the first day buzz, which sorta sucks.

That was one of the reason people didnt want to seed. For me, Id rather have tonight the way its set up than Edina vs Roseau at 11:00 on Thursday.

If you use seeding, you should seed all. At least this year then there would not be a question of some one catching the top seed 2 years in a row.

I think seeding only 2 teams would be better. Because then you could potentially have a game like Hill vs. BSM which would draw a little interest and Woodbury vs. Lakeville first round would have interest and fill that arena up being both communities are big.

I think if you want to seed, seed the top 2 and let the other teams just fall into place, so that we could get some good first round matchups potentially.

I see the logic in seeding only 2. It keeps the best poential matchup happening on Saturday which is how it should be. After yesterday I don't think there was much a difference in the other 6 teams. Blaine may have gotten a bad draw, Benilde caught an easy draw.

In A as long as 1A has zero chance of ever getting seeded do away with in it's entirety. 23-2 ought to give to a seed weather you're from Mankato, Litchfield, or Park Rapids. These teams can't controll their conferences and can't take long overnight road trips like some more well funded teams can

I agree. Seeding Class A seems dumb considering they aren't high profile schools that people talk about. I've only heard of probably 3 of the class A schools. I never even knew Mankato had a team that won over 5 games a year.
