Last year the big rumor was Fink was going to BSM and then Holy Angels so I doubt if there is anything behind this Boyd rumor.scoreboard33 wrote:Right now, I'd bet he stays. His brother stayed throughout high school at Hopkins, unless this is completely a hockey decision I think he will probably stay.
If I were him I would stay as long as Fons stays.
I thought we were under a no transfer rule? Someone explain please.Hockeyguy_27 wrote:Last year the big rumor was Fink was going to BSM and then Holy Angels so I doubt if there is anything behind this Boyd rumor.scoreboard33 wrote:Right now, I'd bet he stays. Boyd's an 8th grader. If you transfer before your freshman year, you don't have to sit our a year of varsity.Nostalgic Nerd wrote:I thought we were under a no transfer rule? Not 100% sure but if you played Varsity hockey for the school you may still be subject to that transfer rule??komada77 wrote:Boyd's an 8th grader. Nope.... nothing says he can't transfer without penalty, as long as he's enrolling as a 9th grader he's good to go!Can't Never Tried wrote:Not 100% sure but if you played Varsity hockey for the school you may still be subject to that transfer rule??komada77 wrote:Boyd's an 8th grader. I will check on it!
He's not transfering. He's enrolling in the high school of his choice like any other kid does. Can't Never Tried wrote:

To bad for Hopkins good deal for wherever he goes...good luck!

Exactly. Private schools exist and they require students. Some go for the religion, some for college prep courses they feel they might be lacking at the local public institution (although many twin city publics are top-of-the-line relatively speaking) some for hockey, some for hoops (see Chicago) some to avoid violence in the hallways (see Milwaukee Public Schools). An 8th grader should never be cited for "transferring" or "leaving home". As an 8th grader, he/she has no home yet. If every 8th grader was subject to the transfer rule, there could be no freshmen sports at any private high school. I know many would like that, (see BIAFP) but remember, 98% of the student body at Hill or HA or CDH or BSM do not play hockey.Neutron 14 wrote:He's not transfering. That's kinda where I was coming from. Some private students were public at one time (cause not all private parents can afford the the cost from K-12).Hilltopper99 wrote:Exactly. what does being in the lake conference have to do with going to state?hockeyman95 wrote:Alright he wants to go to BSM for one reason only and that is to go to state Hopkins has a really good team but in the lake conference the chances are small that they will go to the state tourney.
And what does Hopkins have to do with the Lake Conference? They are in the Classic Lake.mch wrote:what does being in the lake conference have to do with going to state?
Are you kidding the "Classic" Lake Conference is the toughest competition or do you think you have worse chances of making it in a sucky conference????????????????? I don't know it's kinda obvious.mch wrote:what does being in the lake conference have to do with going to state?hockeyman95 wrote:Alright he wants to go to BSM for one reason only and that is to go to state Hopkins has a really good team but in the lake conference the chances are small that they will go to the state tourney.

Wow, two bad homonyms in one sentence. I cleaned it up for you.mulefarm wrote:They're in the same section, so they could play each other for a state berth.
