It is nice to see some positive things about city hockey. All we ever hear from teams in the suburbs is how we don't belong. Just remember Johnson use to be where you guys are finally at.

City Hockey is on it's way back and Johnson hockey will make it to the tournament sometime in the next 10 years, people just needed to see how tough things have gotten for the city teams and now your seeing an upsurge in volenteering and summer programs available for the city kids with Johnson leading the way

I could not find who wrote the article but "Thank You" to the Star-Tribune for such a good and positive piece about our Johnson program. Our numbers may have dropped but our kids still have big hearts and alot of pride. Again "Thank You".

It will surprise everybody to know that I also think this was a very nice article!

Although Moose has been a major part of the program for many years, it's nice to have his voice being heard outside of just the Eastside in articles like this one, and the one in High School Sports the Magazine (link in the News Articles thread). I think it's important for the Johnson kids (and parents) too see that despite what many people want you to believe, the program isn't dying, and there's still a lot of passion around it from the coaches, alumni, and the neighborhood.

Gimme a break - I left it alone for two days! I thought you guys would be impressed I kept my trap shut that long. But the Govs' Commander-In-Chief spoke up, and he's a big part of a legendary Governor sports family. I just figured that if I threw my considerable weight behind him, the two of us giving our seal of approval would convince all of you nay-sayers that it's not all gloom-and-doom on the Eastside.

And hey... if anybody knew where the hell Rogers was, I'm sure they'd write an article about them too!

Nice article, good to hear that while the program isn't as dominant as it was, it's still in good hands and has a promising future.
