I just wanted to hear some opinions on what people think of his decision. Also keep in mind eden prairies defense coach dick emihiser has stepped down to go to buffalo.

I am not that surpised, Nick Leddy also got drafted 7th overall in USHL Futures Draft. I think he made the right choise stay at Ep, hoping that the team improves from last year and make a run at sections.

I don't think Leddy's decision is a bad one - if the kid wants to stay home, good for him. But why is Emahiser going to Buffalo??

Nice honor to be asked to play in that program. I am sure it was a difficult decision for him and his family.

Hopefully he will continue on his development path.

Being from Buffalo I have heard of this switch for Emmy. I was curious if it was a good thing for Buffalo Hockey or has this guy just wore out his welcome in EP?

i heard he somewhat wanted to go. to play at the next level, but his parents didn't want him to. but I don't think it was that big of a deal that his parents did not want him to leave.

I think it is a good call he stayed. He is one of the top 91 players in the country no doubt, and he could possibly be asked to play in the world tournaments a year from now. He will likely be up for Mr. Hockey and make Eden Prairie a much bigger threat. Good call by Leddy.

Given his emphasis on development and skating skills, I think it's probably a good thing. Not sure on wearing out his welcome, but he did leave EP for Mound a few years back, and then returned. 8)

I think it was a great decision. There is a lot of talent coming up that can help out the team but Nick staying at EP will help them out the most.

Interesting perspective from an article I read regarding NTDP and this year's NTDP tryouts. I don't believe Leddy was asked to tryout for the U17 team last spring. However, he did advance through the Advance 16 process to make the USA U17 team that played in the Czech Republic.

Minnesota has a fair number of kids trying out, as they usually do, though I’m not sure how many will actually get invited. Minnesota kids tend to not do as well at this first camp, but are usually the first ones asked to join the U18 team if there are any spots to fill. Players like Pat White, Aaron Ness, and most recently, Nick Leddy didn’t make the team the first time around, but were offered spots later, though all three chose to stay in high school.
