Because the tournament is this weekend, i was wandering if anyone had any predictions or thoughts on the Bantam Minor part of the tournament. Or perhaps does anybody know the rosters for each of the teams.

Does anyone have any more info about this tournament? What's it all about and who runs it?

Well, the tournament is hosted in Plymouth, and I think that it is the age divisions from squirts to bantams.

Doesn't the West have a team since it was excluded from your poll for the Minor Bantams?

What are the thoughts on the Sq thru Bants?

I doub that either of the oranizers paid any attention to the other when scheduling ice for these events. Yes, it would be great if they didn't conflict.

I wouldnt say that selects has the top players. Super Series draws some very (top) nice players.

Selects uses birth year to fill the teams while Super Series uses Youth
Hockey designation. Major /Minor Squirt etc.

I don't know if that's true about the "Super Series" as they have U11 Teams as well as U10 teams. They also have U13 along with U14. You are correct that Selects use birth year. Not sure what that means but on the surface it's not necessarily birth year and it's not youth hockey designation. Sounds like something in between????

I wasn't saying Super series didn't have top players. I was just saying I don't know anything about Super series. How do they pick players. Tryouts?

Do they use rinkwriter to score the games?

Being "Super Series" is the only off-season tournament that is sanctioned by Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey I wonder if they have any input based on scoresheets turned into their districts?

Maybe it's the typical selection process or more rigid?

Enlighten us someone?

Super Series has coaches pick their own teams either by actually watching them or by reputation, same goes for Selects. A player's actual coach has very little to do with it. I have a '92 that played Super Series one year Minnesota Selects the next, and he preferred Selects. He thought the players and tourney were better. Either way, it's just for fun and the kids will enjoy both tourney's.

Though the website says this is a USA Hockey santioned event it is not. The easiest way is to take a peek at the refs and see if they have a crest.

The Super Series. I've confirmed they don't publish rosters or stats online. Can anyone going provide the rosters for the U 10 to U 13 Girls?

I saw Major Peewee South . I guess this would be 94 Team.

They beat the East Team 7-1 in two 22 Min stop periods. This team was loaded with 6 Edina kids 3 Eden Prairie 3 Minnetonka and Faribaults top 2 kids, I guess thats how they are able to call themselves a south team. They also have a Kid listed he is from Winnepeg. That must be just past Faribault on there south map.

Team is coached by Tino Lettieri

I only saw these 2 teams play and the south has to be the best team in peewee group.

coachj,

do you have the rosters for the major peewee's for the super series?

First, I don't have the program on me, so can't list out the teams for you...sorry.

Second, I think the Super Series is an interesting mix of kids at all levels. It's scheduled on a weekend that most people have off for spring break so a lot of people are out of town. I see some of the "usual suspects" on the rosters, mixed with a lot of new kids. Very fun atmosphere.

Third, I did see one kid listed from "New York." Can't remember what team. If it was a south team, maybe they meant New York Mills. If it's east...maybe it's New York City!

I would say Super Series has some really good players as do the Selects tourney.

I just wish they would have more teams and split them up. Example

Instead of 6 Edina kids on 1 team split them up. Get a little mix of different kids playing with each other. Limit 2 players from each team only allowed to play on same team. LIMIT A COACH FROM STACKING TEAM WITH HIS OWN PLAYERS. Put kids in a pool to pick from and for Practices Out of town kids practice together and each area kids practice together. Example Lakeville kid doesn't have to drive to blaine to practice

I noticed Grant Besse wayzata was playing in the Bantam Group. Do you have an agent yet? Would have been nice for some peewee players to say they played the best.

Woodbury Kids are at selects, Eagan Kids are at selects, Lakeville south Kyle Osterberg they are all at selects. District 8 isn't really represented in Super Series. Mcfadden for west st.paul didn't play in game I saw yesterday. He is listed on Roster for East. Fast Player.

Hudson Fashing would have been a nice player to watch play against the south team but , if he played in it, he would have ended up on the D6 allstar team. Chaska Kid's are at selects. This would be a great tournament if they could get all the kids to come. Give the Kids from weaker associations a chance to skate with some great players.

I would say Selects have bigger names playing in Tournament. I think The South Team in super series would hold its own against the select teams. North Team is missing Grand Rapids players, Cloquet, Roseau is split with more players in Minor division.

Blaine has some good players not represented. ADD More teams split kids up. Don't let the coach pick his team.

What's with the Super Series? Here Edina has arguably one of the best 3 U10 teams this year, and they don't have a single kid in this tournament? And there isn't one in the Selects either.

I know people hate Edina, but what's up with that?

There MIGHT not be a conspiracy. The girls are probably sitting on a beach somewhere with their parents. A lot of people are out of town.

Maybe at Girls Hockey. Boys are well represented.

I just love it, you can have kids from Winnepeg and New York in the tournament, but Fire kids can't play.
