BC 2
Gophs 1

After 2

Gophs starting to pick it up-now I think are outplaying BC--had 1 hit the crossbar and a couple of other great opportunities.

I think the BC goalie is really shaky

Kangas is playing stellar again---great save on the 1-0 late in the 2nd to keep it to a 1 goal game

I'm glad you're concerned. My wife and kids aren't - as long as I keep shoveling money their way.

I'm not the least bit concerned about you.
And I am sure you are 10 times the coach Lucia is. :)

And in his speech on utube he talked about how he was 10 times smarter as a parent.

Maybe so, but BC is a bunch of pathetic wimps. Every time they were touched they went down. None of them will play in the NHL.
Plus the east coast bs, the Gophs dominate the 2nd period and all you hear is the BC firepower. Garth Snow had to be in there ear.

Minnesota was beat at every facet of the game tonight. They had a couple chance, but they pretty well got there a$$ handed to them by a better team. It sucks, but its the truth.

Dude, get a grip. Minnesota was beat at every facet of the game all night long. They had a couple chance, but they pretty well got there a$$ handed to them by a better team. It sucks, but its the truth.
You got to be kidding, it looked like a 12 minute power play in the 2nd. As I said they got beat by a better team but every facet?

Every facet is probably not fair. But they were fairly convincingly evident that BC was a stronger team tonight. There was spurts that the Gophers were putting it together, but it seemed like they lost all the small battles all night long.

I was at the game and it was surprising to see a lot of empty seats. Having been raised on Minnesaota hockey where every venue is full no matter who is playing and at what level,it was hard to believe I was watching a Gopher game. By far the greatest fans are in Minnesota. There was absolutely no energy in that building.

The Gophers played only the second period of hockey solid. Even then they were unable to score. BC just clogged the shooting lanes and prevented any second chances. BC took advantage of their speed on the counter attack and the Gophers allowed too many odd man rushes. I don't think I saw a single odd man rush by the Gophers - they were solid during penalty kills but they just could not score on the power play. BC's goalie played well and made big saves ecspecially in the second, but was weak on rebound control.

The refs, on the other hand, plain sucked. A lot of missed and marginal calls put the Gophers on the PK too often. I couldn't believe they missed the second goal - you could hear it behind the glass at the blue line.

I tryed to warn Gopher fans. Boston College is good. For the guy who said none of the BC will play in the NHL....wow. Gerbe? That kid is a stud. They probably have 10 draft picks on that team. They should beat Miami easily. Let's see if another UND/BC semi-final is ahead of us. The Sioux are 0-2 the last two years.

A lot of history between these two teams recently.

2007 - BC over UND - frozen four semis 6-4
2006 - BC over UND - frozen four semis 6-5
2005 - UND over BC - regional final 6-3
2001 - BC over UND - national championship 3-2, OT
2000 - UND over BC - national championship 4-2
1999 - BC over UND - regional final 2-1

I know I'm getting ahead of myself. Congrats to the Gophers on a good season. They could've shipped it in a long time ago. They found themselves a goalie for the next 3 years.

Gerbe may make it. Then again, he is only 5'5 and it won't be easy for a guy that size to stay in the lineup in the NHL.

BC definitely deserved the win yesterday. I will be cheering for them the rest of the way as I respect Jerry York as a coach and I like how the Eagles play.

Gerbe has great skills, speed and game sense but was dominated by the Gophers in one on one battles for the puck-dosen't bode well for playing in the pros. He at one point was standing next to Wheeler when they were reviewing the Gophs 2nd goal and it was comical.

You have to wonder what would have happened if they would have called the goal right away.

Strange to change the score from 5-1 to 4-2 and add 2 1/2 minutes to the clock. Gave the Gophs a chance but would it not have been more adrenalin to call it at the time the goal was scored. Ref appeared to be at a bad angle and not really seeing the net.

The goal judge got it right.

Some of those BC boys could fly but I have a hard time seeing them playing on the little ice with the big bodies, but wish them well.
