Grand Rapids- The Minnesota Crunch are pleased to announce the aqusition of a new Head coach for the 2008/2009 Season.Late this afternoon General Manager of the Crunch Dan Clafton was notified That former NHL player and Hoby Baker award winner Chris Marinucci has accepted the position and will begin at once as the leader of the Minnesota Crunch. Marrinucci was the Leading scorer in the WCHA in 1994 with 30 goals and 31 assists with the UMD Bulldogs . Marrinucci The 1st team WCHA Allstar went on to claim the Hobey Baker award as the top US College hockey player.Chris then went on to play with the L.A. Kings and New York Islanders We are overwelmed and extreamly excited said Clafton. As we began this venture we had no idea we would get a coach of this caliber. This should lead to even more credability to our effort . Not only is Chris a quality person on the ice but is example of what we are striving to achieve off the ice . Marrinucci will be at the open Crunch tryouts this Saturday and Sunday April 5th and 6th.

Nice pick up on getting Chris Marinucci to sign on as head coach. If the girls reflect the coach they will indeed be a hard working and committed hockey club.
