Selects. The goal is to get to the National Select Camp, which gets the most college/scouting interest.score14me wrote:There more than 5 or 6 Section 8 and 5 kids on both lists. How does that work? If given a choice, which one?
Big mistake having it on the same weekend. You would think Russo's bunch would be more in tuned to what Minnesota/USA Hockey is doing. I wonder where the disconnect is.gretzguy wrote:Since this tournament is the same weekend as the Final 51 evaluations for Advance 17s, I'm assuming not quite the top of the heap.
Could be more the fault of the Shattuck crew since they run this event.breakout wrote:Big mistake having it on the same weekend. And your background is...... for you to make such a bold statement? High school, college or pro scout?hcky09 wrote:I was at this exposur camp on fri. This thing is the biggest money making joke I have ever seen. The talent is limited and there are to many teams to support the amount of talent. I think I seen two or three scouts the whole day! They need to change the name, because there is no exposure to anybody other than the shattuck orginization.![]()

I apologize, had I known you've been "around hockey all your life" I would have taken your comments much more seriously. I thought you were just some guy who didn't have a clue.hcky09 wrote:I have been around hockey all my life. It is not hard to be able see where there is talent and where there is not. I have seen better JV games then I have seen at this so called exposure camp.
The goalie from the White Team #11 I think was Shattuck Prep.hcky09 wrote:Please, If you can argue my opinion I would love to here it. Other then a few kids from Benild, Hill, and a couple from shattuck, who else was there? Why were none of the kids from Shattucks prep team on the ice? What scouts were there?
# 7 on the red team was a SSM Prep player this year.Bantamhockey wrote:The goalie from the White Team #11 I think was Shattuck Prep.hcky09 wrote:Please, If you can argue my opinion I would love to here it. If those were the only good players, then the Orange or Gold team won the tourney? They seemed to be the teams loaded with those players on the teams you listed. What teams did go to the championship?
The championship game between purple and maroon was a great game. Shots on goal were fairly even. The purple team had 4 well balanced lines and had the lead 3-2, but Maroon put away 2 unanswered goals in the 3rd to win it 4-3. All around great hockey. I certainly would watch again.tjkhavgam wrote:I was at many games down there and saw plenty of scouts, not as many as the great 8 but still worth it. The Maroon team won, not the gold or orange, I believe the maroon team beat both of those teams pretty handly. Gold was a 1 goal game, scored on there 1st shot and ended up getting only 16 or 17 for the whole game, I think they beat orange by 3 or 4. The Maroon team was lead by the Burnsville boys (5), Grafton ND had 3 nice players and a Eagan kid that was the leading goal scorer. 1st day of hockey was bad , but as the teams got going it was pretty good hockey. Not JV quality. I'll go back next year to watch.
I agree, there were definitely a decent number of good players but also some that didnt belong. A great Championship game and competitive play for sure. Scouts were around looking for the players who still havent been picked up or maybe missed through the year for whatever reason. The Lieverman kid and Zierke kid I thought really looked good.....Lieverman kid lead tourney I believe in scoring and is fun to watch....Still hasn't been picked up up by a USHL team and maybe opened some eyes . Hard to believe when he has signed with MSU-Mankato. I'm sure there were many kids that would say this wasnt a waste of time or money if they get something out of it.....this will remain to be seen though. Can't Never Tried wrote:# 7 on the red team was a SSM Prep player this year.Bantamhockey wrote:The goalie from the White Team #11 I think was Shattuck Prep.hcky09 wrote:Please, If you can argue my opinion I would love to here it. There were many very good players there, saying it was JV quality is ridiculus, the teams were split up to make them somewhat even and I thought it was done well, yes there were some players that maybe are not at the level you were expecting, but the pace was fast, a lot of big hits.
How well should a group of 18 kids that don't know each other much less play with each other perform? individualy the skill level was pretty good.
heres a very small list of names that don't sound JV to me
B. Scott
Boerer
Khols
Furne
Hess
Zierke
Cecka
Leddy
Raiola
Liverman
Hanna
Cashetta
There were also a few out of state players I thought were very good.
The officiating was great, meaning they really made pretty consistant calls and not a whole lot of them.
I thought the whole thing was well done!
As far as scouts being there, yes there were some but it's not always easy to see who they are, they don't wear signs saying scout on them
