Bill Howard Goalie Camp - He is the goaltending coach at the University of Wisconsin and has done a tremendous job developing goalies at Wisconsin to play in the NHL. His camp is half lecture and video and half on the ice, it attracts a lot of girls almost half - instruction is very much on the cutting edge which is sometime hard for girls to find. The camp is one of the early weekends in September. Woodbury tries to do a lot with Howard and his approach.

There are a lot of good goalie camps out there some cost a lot more than others, I have heard good things of the camp in Detroit lakes International Goalie Camps Tretiak(sp?)

Stauber's good 1 on 1 but you have to be rich to go there! JMO
I can't afford it.

the others mentioned too are good from what I have heard.

Behind the mask or Steve Caroll

I have yet to here anything negative about any of the goalie camps.

The schools/camps mentioned above are good choices. The following options have worked well for our goalies:

The Goalie Glub
http://www.thegoalieclub.com/

Run by Desmond Christopher. Des is the Goaltending Consultant for Minnesota State University - Mankato (Men's and Women's Hockey Programs) and the 6 boys teams and 2 girls teams at Shattuck-St. Mary's School. Rating = Excellent.

Steve Guider Goalie School
http://www.guidergoalieschool.com/

Run by Steve Guider. Steve is the Blaine High School Girls Hockey Head Coach and Goaltending Coach for both the Boys and Girls teams. Steve also is a coach at USA Hockey National Development Camps. Rating = Excellent.

GDI (Goaltender Development Institute)
http://www.gdihockey.com/

Run regionally by Matthew Millar. Matt is Goaltending Coach for 2008 Minnesota Boys High School Hockey Champion Hill-Murray Pioneers and numerous youth hockey associations in the Twin Cities Metro. Rating = Excellent.

Agree that Guider, Carroll and Stauber are good choices for skill development...I have watched the Howard tapes, good concepts, but complicated style to teach young goalies...it's tough to pickup in a weekend and outside of Howard few coaches know how to teach his techniques during winter months..It takes college goalies a couple of years to figure it out....

Guider and Carroll are both great camps...I have had experience with both. As a player and as a coach. Guider does a variety of movement drills every day, as well as about 6 different stations per day working on different skills. He also gives all campers a book of on-ice and off-ice drills to work on during the season. Carroll is also great, working on a variety of skills. He's been in the business a long time and knows what he's talking about.

I agree with previous posters about Stauber, Steve Carroll, and Des Christopher.
Carroll and Christopher offer a variety of camps throughout the area and throughout the year. Both seem to always be on the ice and have a knack for balancing "pushing your kid to his/her limit" and "progressive success". I have seen these guys on the ice with a mixed group (either age or ability) and each goalie seems to be getting a personal camp.
My oldest has done the one on one at Stauber and I would recommend it for high school age. Go try a session and then buy a package-bring your $$$
Des Christopher (The Goalie Club) also offers privates or semi privates. I can's say for certain if Steve Carroll does.

Yes, carrol does individual lessons...often they are done during a team practice..know a lot people who have used him on a regular basis during winter/summer practices with noticable results www.carrollgs.com
