Coors/Molson/Miller all have been bought out by foreign companies.
Well today in the StarTribune; Anheuser-Busch Companies, the nation's biggest brewery, received a $46 billion

buyout offer Wednesday from a Belgian brewer that might be too good to refuse.

I'll just bet that Bin Laden is behind all of this. He is trying to choke us to death by taking away all of our Beer.

Do you know what kind of impact that would have!?!
He's always one step ahead. And then he's gonna start making those tapes again except he'll be doing it with a nice frosty mug in his right hand.
We're doomed.

Rumor has it that Anheuser got the word that Empire was about to turn 21, and would get a huge revenue boost.

There's another reason not to drink that stuff... as if taste alone wasn't enough.
At least they didn't sell out to Canadians. That would've been a real kick in the ballbag.

Nice chunk of change. I can't blame them at all.
I'll still drink it.
Glad I went on the brewery tour when I did this last February. Wonder what happens to all the history and the Busch family at the top.

Domestic vs. Import at Happy hour

One thing (of many I guess) that bothers me with beer pricing at bars is their distinction between domestic and import beers. Why is Sam Adam's not a domestic and Miller Lite is? It evidently isn't based on location of the brewery or the stock exchange it is traded on. With the sale of Bud to Inbev, will we be able to get line pricing on Bud Heavy and Stella?
I'm hoping with this latest big beer acquisition, our local bars can clean up this confusing piece of americana.
On a side note, Bud was the official beer of the Torino, Italy olympics. We were only allowed to buy Bud products while watching the US vs. Russia and Canada vs. Czechs in prelim round hockey action.
