I'm not on the roster either, but is it okay if I ask who the kid is? I haven't heard of him either. Where's he from? He must be pretty decent if he made the squad. Good for him whoever he is.

I'm assuming Dog Log is talking about Corey Leivermann, senior forward from Mankato West. He finished the regular season 5th in the state in scoring with 71 points (39g, 32a). Corey also had a very good state tournament with 3 goals and 3 assists.

glad for the kid, but what makes me chuckle is stats are always thrown in, wonder how many points he'd have playing a tough schedule? I'm sure having that many points is great, but playing a tougher schedule to me is much better. DId he play any hard teams? Edina? Grand Rapids, Minnetonka? Class A player no doubt with 71 points, look at Nico, played in the USHL and scored very little as compared to when everyone talked him up too.

Will they carry 25? Is there risk of further cuts?

Good luck to the young man.

Pretty sure he is a lock as he picked out equipment and jersey number. He had a very good weekend and has a good upside.
I do not believe they have picked the entire team as several kids were invited back to there August camp for a second look free of charge

According to the Fargo Force Website he is on the team:

"Cory Leiverman
Forward
Mankato West High School"

Listed under "Players"

He probably is on the team, though being listed under "players" does not gaurantee it. There are a few on that list that will not be playing for the force next season, one of them being the 15 year old phenom McColgan from LA U-18. He will be playing major junior next year in Canada.

Leivermann did has a fairly easy schedule, but he missed about 6 games with that 71 points. Not to mention he was very impressive in the elite 1 league last fall and played good in the Great 8 tournment where his team won the Championship.

It might better suit McColgan to play in Fargo for a year. He's limited to 6 games in the WHL if he signs now.
