97 Level

#1 Blades...by a country mile
#2 Machine

Stealth - Synergy - Icemen - Duece - Cyclones - LSS - All tied for third...everybody beat everybody

Next level...
Snipers - Northern Wings - RBK - Grinders...in that order

Probably another 1 in there somewhere.
Drops off pretty quick after those

Blades, Synergy and Duece (bummer...nice team) arent coming to Duluth

I happened to catch part of the 97 Cylcones versus Duece game last night at the Super Rink. Very good hockey.

What was the final? From watching these two teams previously the Cyclones appear to be getting better and the Deuce seem to be stagnant for the talent that they appear to have on that team. Was it an even game, or did one team dominate?

Last I saw, I believe the Cyclones were up 3-1 in the 2nd period. It didn't seem like one team was dominating the other. I didn't stick around for the final...

Cylcones ended up winning 4-3. I thought the Cyclones dominated large portions of the game but the Duece came on strong in the end and could have very easily tied it. Keep in mind the Duece beat the Cyclones 7-2 not more than 2 months ago.

I was at both games against these two teams. 1st game had no checking, this last game was checking. Cyclone’s seem to be the more aggressive team and played the body well, which had the Deuce bottled up in their zone for the majority of the game. They also played 3 - 20 minute stop time periods, with no resurface; a long game for 10-11 year old kids.

Regarding the 7-2 game before, it was a much closer game then the score reflects… (Goaltending, penalties, and some costly mistakes, which Deuce capitalized on…)

These are both Great teams from Solid Developmental programs.

Blades . . .by a country mile????? Didn't these teams split their games last year? I think the only meeting this year was in Winnipeg, and that was a 3-2 win for the Blades, on a late goal, in a game that could have gone either way. You are right, it is a bummer the Blades are in Chicago rather than Duluth this weekend as Machine-Blades games, at any age level, never seem to disappoint those who like good hockey.

Your right, a 97 Blades vs 97 Machine game wouldn't disappoint anyone, but I stand by my country mile reference...bet most everyone out there would agree as well.

I saw on another thread (Golden Walleye Tourney) that the 97 Blades beat the 97 St. Louis Jr. Blues in Chicago. What were the other results at that tournament? What other Minnesota teams were there? Big win for the Blades--country mile statement might be right.

It would have been nice to see the Machine at the Chicago tourney. Does anyone know why they changed spots with the Deuce and went to Duluth instead of Chicago? They were originally scheduled to play in Chicago.

Don’t know about a tourney, because if it was nobody told us it was a tournament…But the Deuce, Blades, Chicago Mission, St Louis Jr Blues got together over the past weekend for “friendship games” not a tournament

Deuce 1 Blues 9
Mission 1 Blades 4
Blues 4 Blades 3
Mission 3 Blues 5
Blades 5 Blues 2
Blues 6 Mission 4
That’s all the game scores I know

The Blues vs. Blades Games was some of the best hockey I have seen

Wow, what happened to the Deuce? Coaches kids playing first line again? It's a shame, there are some good kids who work well together on this team that aren't getting a chance to shine. A new coaching staff would do this group wonders.

It was the first time we played teams from Minnesota….You should be proud , the Deuce and Blades had great kids and parents…and the 97 Blades has to be the best skating , Passing , Shooting team we have ever played…it was a great season warm up…I know your winding down from spring…but we are just stating our fall…thanks for the games.....hope we all meet again next year…Good luck to all on the upcoming season…
