Which LA Selects team?

If Minnesota put together an "All-Star" team with the best players in the state at the same age and game them some time to practice with each other...the Minnesota team would most likely destroy the LA Selects.

Wouldn't that be the Blades club and I would wager a guess they've beat the LA Selects in the past.

Good players playing together against strong competition helps the players improve. Beating teams 20-0 does nothing to help develop either teams or players. It should be all about development at the younger ages. Shouldn't be about collecting trophies to fill a trophy case. Wait till the fun HS years to do that!

Association teams have beaten the LA selects. The Minnesota All-Star team would win at any age level. Every game. Forever.

Would you consider the Machine a Minnesota All-Star team?

Don't be so arrogant about Minnesota hockey, California the largest state in the union, just by their size could probably put out quite a few good players. A tier II team from LA beat the 96 Fire in Chicago 2 years ago and thier top line could stack up with any 3 kids from our state. Remember they do have indoor ice, roller hockey is big there, and a lot of Canadians and ex NHL'ers live there.

I wouldn't even consider the Blades an "All-Star" team. If you combined the best players in the State (some may come from the Blades and the Machine) and gave them some practice time, they would beat the LA Selects 95 out of a 100 times. No question in my mind,

And yes, I believe the 95 Blades beat the LA Selects in the Golden Walleye by a score of 9-5.

Los Angeles has a Pee Wee team that won Tier I last year. A level that includes Honeybaked, Little Caesars, Chicago Mission, etc...

Put it this way...the state of Minnesota has to get real serious to field a team that can win at that level. This isn't a knock on Minnesota or community-based hockey at all. It is testament to how strong hockey has gotten in some Sun Belt areas.

Clown.......someone see's the light. I love community based hockey but compared to the rest of the USA........our talent pool hasn't grown very much in MN.

I'm not taking sides but when you look at NAHL, USHL and College rosters there are a bunch of kids from what we refer to as non-hockey states. Truth be told those states are bringing athletes to the rink in greater numbers then MN. People here are scared to put thier kids into hockey because of the money, politics and travel. That is sending good athletes to wrestling and bball.

Sad to say but being from MN doesn't say much in the hockey world anymore. Oh yes we still produce the most D1 and Pro players but I would tend to think our numbers are not the ratio they were in the 70's, 80's and early 90's.

How could they be? The '80 Olympic team was predominantly Minnesota and Massachusetts. People play hockey in other parts of the country too now, and that's not a slam on Massachusetts or Minnesota.

If the best Minnesota PeeWee players formed a team and played year round together, there is no doubt in my mind that they would the considered one of, if not THE best Tier-I team in the Nation.

Like was said earlier, the Blades (an offseason AAA team) beat the LAS this summer 9-5, and that Blades team isn't made up completely of the best players in the State. Imagine a team made up with the best players from, but not limited to, the Machine, Blades, LSS, and maybe the Icemen...and give them a chance to play together year round and see what happens then.

Could be a good match up, you never know. My oldest son has played against California Teams before in the past. Some are of them we're very good. This post reminds me of the movie about the Bantam team from California that went to the National Tournament.

Did anyone go watch the LA SELECTS at the golden walleye tournament and if so were there 3 best players Max Becker # 37, Chase Deleo #19 and Brian Williams #98

Hockey kid - I think your missing the point of the question. Are you trying to give "press" to a few players from the Selects team..Or are you really questioning if a All-Star team from MN could beat them..

The answer is yes. Muck&Grind hit it on the head...If you took the best players around and practiced together all year - there would be no doubt they would pound on the LA Selects and any other top 95 team in the country....The Blades are just one out of (20) 95 teams in MN...and they smoked the la selects.

Look what the Fire did - Even though they lost 5-3 to the selects, they certianly did not have ALL the BEST players from MN - They had 3 or 4 of the best (had a great team & coach - but not all the best players) and only played together 1 winter season. If MN put together a True all-star team, I would think they would ROLL on anyone
